J.J. Manning's Irish PubLogo Design Contest

I like the lower part where the name is listed. The name being bold and prominent is key with the 'Irish Pub' being subtle and incorporating the shamrocks. While the glass of beer looks tasty I am looking for something a little more serious and less animated if that makes sense. I like that the top is circular or I guess oval in shape. I would love to see the use of a Celtic design. I have stumbled across an example online. www.bonrunningclub.com will show a logo for Brian O'Neill's. I like this as a point of reference. Also, would like to see an idea that includes some Celtic knotwork.

OK. Entry #4 is in 1st over #3 in 2nd because I believe the 'Irish Pub' looks better when in the circle. #5 is 3rd simply because the green writing doesn't pop like the gold/yellow. I like the colors you have worked with - the deep red gives it a rich feeling. I don't love the pointy trim ring. Is there a variation of that or something differrent for the edge?

Someone else might have totally unique ideas they'd like to enter, but will be influenced by your comments to my particular design, very limiting in terms of possible design possibilities.
