Client
the 8 top ranked are ALL very close!
got back some positive changes based on my feedback and some good new designs without any feedback!
things could easily change by subtle improvements to these or some radical new idea!

the concept of a "line" that is identifiable and memorable is pretty important.as well as the concept of speed
i am less likely to go with an arrow but not ruling out

lenapple, for the record gradients and 3D effects cannot be a factor in establishing a copyright or an hierarchy so i encourage you to ask everybody any effects you want to be applied upon submissions.

again the top ranks are close and at this point they all have elements i like

watch out for #152 he might be on a good track
his font is weak, if he improves it and if he gets rid of top and bottom lines he has a shot!

i like direction of #106 but needs more work to win

in general speed lines are good but may be over done so may not have much more potential for improvement and straight lines are more desirable than curved to represent speed

i like the rendition of a road but it might not be win-able because i don't want to be seen as a trucking company

logos that are too "out there" are not going to win
some of the worlds best logos are rather simple and not very complex
we are a forward thinking and very efficient yet rather conservative company which should not be disregarded in the design of our new logo

at this point any logo that is ranked has potential winning elements

look up inlineco.com and click on "about"
see the sign on our building
it is a much better rendition of our current logo
can anyone try a simple upgrade of this concept that would look better in print?
our current logo looks better in a 3 dimensional sign but just does not translate well to smaller print in 2 dimensions

Dear Ch
Please leave individual comments on designs by clicking on each of the respective designers work - thats when we receive an email notification and thus its easy for us to follow. Of course you can leave general comments in this area - thanks for understanding. I will leave comments about my work on my own design page.

My client, Scott has been having a great time with this. Thank you all for the amazing logos! We were down to 45 minutes left on this tournament and he had to run out to a meeting and didn't have a chance to look at all the new ones - so we have extended it 2 more days.

Chances are however, we will end early tomorrow once Scott has a chance to look at all the new logos.

Thanks again, great job!

i am going to rank again in a couple hours
at first glance i see that some of you are coming up with some good ideas, some are following my latest guidelines, and some are not paying attention and wasting their time.
there might be some sleepers in this latest batch so watch for a few ideas moving WAY up and possibly taking 1st place!
thx

Client
still not seeing a design that would warrant a complete change of our original trademark
so at this point the winning design might be an upgrade of old design
can anyone do a stainless steel or chrome look with red highlight?
thx

Client
please do not withdraw ANYTHING that is ranked
i am working on ranking and need to change rank order to compare logos
your rank may go up or down drastically until i get closer to final decision
GREAT CHOICES! hard to decide!
regretably i had to give up some great logos only because they did not fit my company, but the designs were very creative

Client
i am having a hard time deciding between the top 2
i am seriously thinking of dropping the speed line theme that we have had for 25 years!
none of the speed line examples really worked for me
i have some opinions that #1 would be difficult to duplicate with consistency on letterheads, invoices, sides of trucks, outdoor signs etc.
#2 however is a bit boring to me and too much of a seperation in the lettering with a black line AND color change between top and bottom of logo.
i may want to leave it up to the logotournament community to decide
is there any drawback to this?
is there such a thing as a tie?

Lenapple my advice is you are not happy with any deisgns and have concerns about print you can extend teh contest and revise th e briefing.

Tips on print

gradients will print fine however shiny glossy effect will only print will on gloss stock..so letter heads are out of the questions (glossy effects will print poor and look washed out) all these 3d and shinny effects look best on screen

Truck decals...gradients and glossy effects will print fine on 3M control Tac..though it is more economical to use with Pantone (solid colours)

My advice is to extend the contest and revise the brief...I am not sure if you are a where there is a built in feature called Logo Court this is where designers can initiate cases against another designer for copying his/her concept. The LC are voted on my LT members...but in this case there are many LC happening...all for the wrong reasons...since your original logo has lines so the designers are starting LC's against one another in hopes to oust a designers from the contest and put them in a better position to win....

The reason designers are removing there design is because they do not wish to be removed from the contest by loosing and LC, so they withdraw the artwork and this auto closes the LC ..I know this is frustrating especially if there is one design you preferred over another but now it's been removed..

By extending the contest even for a few days this will allow the designers to re-submit....also you should revise the brief if need be.

hope this helps
