Here, the 'c' in the logo borrows the umlaut from its traditional German placement over the 'o'. Utilized as a design element, the umlaut here represents the ability of Höferle to act as a confident bridging agent to facilitate intercultural business relations.
kind of cute idea. not sure about the blue&brown. I do like brown (the darker the better), but ould prefer a different complementary color. I think the font for the company looks off. compare to #51 and #53.
I will explore some variations in color and type choice and post later today. Are you thinking that overall the logo should be a little more 'substantial'? …that the current font (for the company name) and the color (#64) make it a little 'soft'?
I'll be offline until shortly before the end of the contest. so feel free to post as many new variations as you want. I might not respond until late in the contest, though. But as I said, I like the basic principle of your idea ....
– The weight of the typefaces used for the company name and Hc initials; – The general squareness and/or roundness of the typefaces (which includes how the umlaut appears #159 #161 #164); and, – Color variations. (Some of the dark colors may appear black on screen, however they are dark browns and this will be more apparent when printed.) The deep browns would really be stunning on a natural color paper.
#159 #160 #164 play off the contrast in weight or shape (round/square).
#157 #158 #161 #162 #163 are more uniform in their characteristics.
I like the font for company name in #163 best. also the boldness (heavines?) of the monogram. But: #159 with its duo-chrome appearance looks more sophisticated. the dark brown is super. but can you go thucker/bolder/heavier on the monogram?
Hello, It's probably better that we communicate through the site until the contest is complete. Then I'll be happy to discuss further details (i.e. formatting, versions) offline. Let me make this adjustment (add a space between "Höferle" and "Consulting") and I'll post revised versions momentarily. Thanks! –Geoff
okay, we're almost there. I favor the color scheme of #199, but like the "boxy" version of the monogram (i.e. the "C") in #200 better. can you fix that? after that I feel like it's done. I would like to have the files by Monday morning. I need to get business cards and letterheads done. DO you think we can finish this today?
Denis, As you requested I've taken the color treatment from #199 and applied it to the boxy monogram and type of #200. Once approved, I can deliver final files later today. As far as printing the colors for stationery, I'll include cmyk breakdowns and pms options for each color. You may also want to consult with the printer as to how to get a really deep dark brown if printing 2 colors. I've enjoyed working with you on this, fine-tuning the logo to a point where you're happy with it. Best, Geoff
Geoff, I'm sorry. I made a mistake. I meant to type: the color scheme of #198 is my favorite. Which means now: #201 is the best entry. But please make the monogram as dark a brown as in #198. that'll make #202 the winner. ALso: I'm not sure I understand "designer lingo". No idea wht you mean by cmyk breakdowns and pms options ... please explain. plus: do you think the printer will have issues with brown?
I'm really satisfied with your entries. Great job. Let"s get this over with.
Actually in #198, the dark color went to black (like it is here #202). #201 was about as dark a brown as I could go (thinking in terms of ink on paper). This is where colors vary depending on media: on-screen versus printed. I'm sure you could achieve a very, very dark brown in print but it may be a safer bet to go with black. I'll be glad to talk with you directly (and the printer) to get the colors just right, to ensure that they reproduce well when printed. I'll also explain your printing options: 4-color process and spot colors. Though I'm new to Logo Tournament, it is my understanding that color tweaks can continue after the contest is complete. Thank you again. Geoff
