Our Ideas and Additional Information:
Looking for ideas combining water with rest/sleep. My pre-conceived concept is to somehow blend the profile of an ocean wave with that of a sleeping person (perhaps a baby, or a person's head using the inside of the wave as a pillow). The water should have clean lines & little to no "Froth" (not messy). I imagine the person cradled in the wave to be silhouetted in there. This product is geared toward infants, but I don't want to brand it is "child only".

Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
- I guess the trick will be, with a wave of this size, to still convey relaxation & not surfing or being knocked over by a wave. - No Border if possible - just against a white background (or a reverse image as in the "Pacifica" example). - Try a "Negative image" of person (or face) in the body of the wave (if the wave is solid) - A bit more fluidity and less "blocky". - The slogan is "Sounds for Slumber", not "Sounds of Slumber".
Tough call on ranking #4 & #6 - I could change my mind on this order, even without changes.
#4 Notes
Very good on the shade & darkness of blue.
While part of me likes the modern "Mac" plastic 3D of #5, the reflection obscured the face a bit, and some people didn't recognize there was a face there until they looked at #4. So I will lean toward the 2D classic look then of #4.
I like the feel of the waves breaking to the right, so for #4 I'd prefer the image to be flipped horizontally, so the wave breaks to the right, and also the person is looking up & to the right for a more positive feeling.
The wave is clear to me, but I'm afraid it might get lost on someone who doesn't know what it's supposed to be. Maybe there's a way to add another wave "lick" to sell the idea it's a wave.
I'd probably do the gradient of the "Hushaboo" just a smidge darker so it doesn't get too light.
Very clever integrating the hair as the water. Love the choice of font for Hushaboo. It has a sophisticated yet playful quality.
I like that you have the slogan "Sounds for slumber " in there, and also that the slogan is disconnected in such a way that I can choose to include it or omit it for various uses. This makes your logo more flexible.
I also like that "Hushaboo" is not centered, which make ti flexible enough that you could make it "Hushaboo.com", and I can choose to include or omit ".com" without blowing the balance of the logo. I'd like to see this with ".com" appended.
It took me a few moments to recognize this as a face. I first saw it as a circle with waves, but couldn't figure out what the eyes & mouth were. I thought they were rain or something. Maybe there's some subtle way to help that be clearer at a glance.
The curly hair makes this logo lean toward baby, but that's not a deal breaker here. This is very clever.
#6 - I may also like to see a version of this with the Slogan slightly larger, though I recognize it's currently doing the job while not interfering with or unbalancing the imaging. This is a bit of an afterthought from my previous notes, so you might have it right already.
#6 - Maybe you're giving me a border there with the hair edge & the head, but it looks a little like a "Comb-over". If there's something that can minimize that, I'd be interested to see it.
#4 - It appears to be female already, so the more I look at this, the more I'd prefer a classic Cinderella or Little Mermaid's Ariel type profile, over the oval face & triangular nose.
Nice stuff coming in - thank you all! I'm glad I don't have to pick right this moment because there are all excellent. I'll have to re-assess the order in the morning. The most recent entry #13 is very strong.
One note I'd like to make - the font used in #6, #7, #19, etc.. I consider fair property for anyone to use, if it works with your design of course. This is pretty much the same font I was already using on my site, so in case people are concerned about using it for fear of copying another design, it was already established as a font I liked.
The rankings are in flux. I'm placing them in this order just to give you indicators. Some logo's had to be bumped down the ranks in their current form, but addressing the comments could certainly shift things around.
As I see it, there are 2 choices I'll have to decide between. Whether to go with cute/baby or not. I'm undecided on this at the moment, and your clever designs are making me think. At the moment, I'm leaning toward "not so baby/cute", or something that a man would be willing to wear on a T-shirt. Not that I expect to sell T-shirts, but that's my litmus test of the day.
Contest ended - Thank you all for your entries & creative ideas. I'm thrilled with the quality & variety, and will do my best to pick the winner within 24 hours.
