Thank you so much for your entries. Please don't be discouraged by the initial ranking.
I like your comment describing the significance of your design elements. That is very thoughtful and insightful. I'll tackle the easy stuff first. In entry #5 I like the blue font for "Lutheran Church". In entry #6 I like the larger font both left and right justified. With regard to the stained glass in #7, that clearly drives home that you are looking out a window, but the concern is the fine detail might blur in print media (especially if photocopied). I'm not that artistic or creative, but I would like try to describe a little better what might be what we are looking for. One thought would be some free form curves in both the cross and the mountains. Another would be that most entries seem to go with a portrait image to the left of a landscape wordmark, but I was wondering about placing a landscape image above a landscape wordmark.
I'm very excited and pleased with this one #16. As usual, our group will gather our thoughts at the end of the day to make our new rankings and comments. Thank you. Thank you.
Well, everyone in our group so far likes #16 the best. The simplicity is quite compelling. The #19 and #20 entries are also very appealing. I hope this isn't too much, but what I'm about to suggest is the nature of group-think. With respect to #16, one person suggested that he'd like to see the same design with different colors. The rationale being, how do we know these are the best colors without comparing them to something else? And also with regard to #16, #19, and #20, while I like this font very much, another person didn't like the "N's". She also would like to see the "osanna" either in lower case or if still in upper case, smaller than the leading H. I'm not particularly sold on those ideas, but more simply, I would entertain the notion of some alternate font. I must say your response to yesterday's guidance was superb, but I'm not sure tonight's guidance will offer you as much to go on. Thank you for all your efforts.
I forgot to ask, with regard to #20, one person asked if you do a version without the colored fill. The concern was the quality of the image in photocopying. That said, for my own two-cents, perhaps the fill only needs to have a higher contrast with the cross and the circular outline. Thank you.
Absolutely. I'm happy to make any changes you'd like to see.
On the fonts: A serif font has the little embellishments on the ends. On #16 "Hosanna" is serif. A sans-serif font has plain, squared-off ends. On #16 "Lutheran Church" is a sans-serif font. Do you have a preference either way?
On colors: Do you have any color preferences, or any you'd like to see?
I did several combinations at once with these entries. Combinations of fonts and colors can all be recombined in any fashion. I do think that whatever font we use for "Hosanna" it needs to be strong enough to stand on its own without the graphic mark. Too plain and it gets lost I think.
Greetings! Thank you for the winning vote. I will be sending your files shortly. Before I do, what colors combinations and file formats would you like?
