I kept all aspect of these logos with glass etching in mind. Will you also be doing these in color for other uses. Please let me know if there is anything that you might want to see changed.
Very cool ideas! I have to say my eye keeps getting drawn to Entry #26, that look pretty good.
Thanks for keep in mind the etching also. Wow, I do really like #26 of yours.
Entries #23, 24 and 29 I might have to put a little farther down on the ranking list. It's not that I don't like them, but WSO (Weapon Systems Officers) fly in the back of the two seat Super Hornet and I know for sure they will all stick their noses up at the logo with just pilot wings (one anchor). Their breast insignia has two cross anchors since they're NFOs (Naval Flight Officers). Being a pilot, I like them but about a 3rd of the audience wont. Sorry.
The thing about #23 and 24 that I do really like is the oval kind of look. It's making it a little longer from side to side, which I think will work well on the glasses.
Could I ask, just maybe, you might be able to do #26's letters in a more "fancy/elegant" font? I know I said I wanted it to be masculine on the chart thing, but this is a very formal affair and it might please the wives, which entail might please the husbands. Hey, I could be way off and I might be asking you to do something you might know better.
Hi and thanks for the feedback. I did not know that there was different insignia, (the nice thing with these contest is that we learn so much from researching the topic). I thought the video on the website was really cool, and really brings a sense of pride for what you all do for us here.
I'll try a few options on the fonts. I know what you mean with #26 drawing the eye. At first I was a bit hesitant since it did not carry the same symmetry as the other logos. But I liked the flow and agility feel it has.
As for the others that have the insignia, I added the insignia to fill the top portion. Initially I had done it with a few stars, but I was not sure if that is to much in the Army branch. Should I give the stars try again? Anyway, I keep trying different ideas, and by all means feel free to shoot them down - OK, pun intended :)
Thanks again and any other suggestion or request you may have feel free to ask.
Marcelo
BTW - Are the Hornet and Super hornet the same size? Is there any ordnance that I should include in one and not the other?
Oh yeah, if you are going to put weapons/ordnance on the wings of the Super Hornet, put three per side. The Hornet will carry two weapon pylons per side.
Thanks for putting in your designs. With only one day left before the judging I hope I can see some other work. Thanks for what you've you done so far.
Hello again. Actually I will be uploading a few more, but I was not sure if I should wait (I usually prefer to wait towards the end to avoid copycats. Overall the site is pretty good with most being ethical and not copying others ideas, but unfortunately it does occur.) I was not sure if I need to change the direction of the design or if you had decided that the changes were no longer needed on my design. I made a few with the requested changes and a few more new variations.
Since my wife handles the advertising speciality side of our business (mugs, glasses, t-shirts...), I asked her to get some info on the specs for glass etching. Of course there are so many to choose from (some more fluted than others) but on the typical wine glass the average size was 2.5w x 1.5h, so I tried to conform more to these specs in the newer designs.
Additionally, I wanted to ask you if you would like to also see a color version or will all other print collateral be B&W too?
