Thanks for the entries so far. Here's what we think:

#1: This looks a little too much like our old logo. Although we're not completely against going with a similar design, we'd also like to see some fresh perspectives. It is good that your entry takes less space vertically than our old logo, which, being both wide and tall, is difficult to place on promotional items. The font for "OmniBook" is a bit thin here and might not display as well in printed ads or small versions of the logo.

#3: The star is a nice touch on the book, and the shadow behind the book gives that part of the logo nice dimensionality. We're not sure the book itself communicates messages like a professional but fun website, though. Also, we would like to see our tagline ("Where to Find Hollywood") in the logo if possible.

Thanks again and hope the feedback helps.

We've ranked the current entries so you can see our thinking. As additional entries come in we may be asking each of you for specific changes on your entries submitted so far.

In general, at this point we'd like to see some entries that evoke "connecting" or "community" in the design.

Thanks everyone for your work so far!!

#10: Please increase the size of "OmniBook" so it's the same width as "HOLLYWOOD" and decrease the space between the characters in "OmniBook". Move "Where to Find Hollywood" under the entire logo, like your #11. It's okay if the tips of the link icon extend a little outside the rectangle formed by the words in the logo.

#3: Please try one or two color combinations other than black/red, and please add our tagline ("Where to Find Hollywood") to the logo.

#7: Please add our tagline ("Where to Find Hollywood") to the logo.

Thanks!

To all designers - we like the entries we've seen so far, please keep them coming.

Going forward we're less interested in artwork with books -- our name will communicate that piece.

We're looking to the artwork to convey:
- connecting and community or "belonging"
- some of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood
- a little adventure and fun
- achieving a goal or realizing a dream

Please don't forget -- it's "Hollywood OmniBook", not "Hollywood Omnibook".

Also, please include our tagline ("Where to Find Hollywood") in all entries. We would like to see entries where the tagline could be removed without disrupting the logo, so we could put the logo only on a small promotional item like a pen.

Thanks and please send any questions!

#22: Thanks for the new entry. We like how easy it is to read "Hollywood OmniBook" and our tagline. The artwork is a bit busy, though. We'll send additional, specific suggestions for the artwork tomorrow.

Thanks,
Cynthia

We've not picked a winner yet and would love to see more entries before the contest ends.

See my May 15th comment for suggestions and ideas of what we want to see.

#34: Can we see this one without the embossing on the circle with star? More like #31 for the circle with star.

Thanks!

#34: Also, a little darker for all of the fonts.

Thanks!

#22: Can we see another version of this entry with these changes: On the left, keep just the filmstrip/road and the city buildings. Move the star over "HOLLYWOOD" like it's a shooting star flying from the city over "HOLLYWOOD". The star could have a trail behind it.

Thanks!

Just a few comments now. More in a bit:

#46: Beautiful design, but a bit too close to Obama's campaign icon.
#45: Also great visually, but too abstract.
#49: Though fun, too retro for our needs right now. Also, OmniBook needs more emphasis.

Thanks!

We've extended the contest, not because we're unhappy with the entries we have but because we're very happy with the entries we have and will need more time to make our decision.

#44, #20, #51, #23, you're at the top of our list, though other entries are still contenders.

We have a large group of customers, associates, and friends sending us feedback, and we have many factors to weigh over the next few days.

We do not plan to ask for many (or any) changes over the next few days, but please be patient while we make our final decision.

Everyone who entered did an amazing job. Thank you so much for the opportunity to see your ideas and entries.

Again, we will make a final decision within the next few days. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Cynthia
