Color Preferences
black, white, silver. - The building facade has red clay tile, patina-ed copper and while stucco. see photos. The logo could incorporate those colors in a refined subtle way. However, the logo should primarily look like a logo for an art gallery, museum or cultural venue.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We had one logo done incorporating the Mediterranean-style domed minaret, because it's a distinct architectural element of the building. However, the owners did not like the color and depth and felt the minaret and dome may be too iconic and symbolic. Variations could include the minaret and dome if it has more depth. Variations could include the red tile roof or just have a clean letterform like the hand painted look found on building facades in 1900's american cities. Think downtown Soho Warehouse in New York City circa 1900. See our pre-lauch website for more info about the concept. www.HofheimerBuilding.com

Discussion

The logo should include the words "Hofheimer Building" and also be able to add the word historic as in "Historic Hofheimer Building." Try BLDG. in subscript instead of Building

Is there a way add photos/samples during the contest?

Try using typography like they used when they painted signage on building in the 1900's in New York City like this https://www.pinterest.com/pin/351912444903042/ and other typography of the period. http://www.shutterstock.com/s/1900/search-vectors.html

Someone should try using the red clay tile on the roof as the icon instead of the tower.

I like the way the words "Co." and "USA" are used in the symbol at the very bottom of this page. Go all the way to the bottom of the page. Try treating the word "building" as "BLDG." in subscript like in this example. http://hookandirons.com/blogs/hook-and-irons/tagged/company-members

lets see one like the Waltons signs in the samples I uploaded. Hofheimer big. BLDG in the middle with lines above it. "Scott's Addition" (neighborhood name) on either side of BLDG. and then below it tagline: Art Gallery, Events & Weddings
