Color Preferences
I would love to convey an organic feel but with a color pallet that is fresh. Not just greens. I like orange, green, brown, blue.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
** These are only guidelines - I am open to new concepts/ideas so please feel free to have fun and do something fresh and we can dial it in as we go.
-Bright, fresh colors.
-I tend to like lowercase letters.
-I like the look of the Bull Terrier breed of dog (a la Target, Spuds McKenzie), and I prefer no silhouettes of a dog - he needs to have a face. He's happy, healthy, frisky and very independent - not too silly or dopey looking. He's also not a "sad" down in the face hobo dog. He's a happy "on the move" kind of hobo dog.
-A dog holding a "bindle stick" (the hobo sticks with the hankerchief) is what I have in mind, but I'm open to any and all concepts.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for the Designers' hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

Great designs right off the bat!

#4, #1, and #6 - I like the font used in 'hobodog'. I like the font used in the tagline also, but I'm concerned whether it will be readable on a small ad? I like the color scheme on these as well. I love the dogs in #1 and #4. I think

Designers, I'd like the dog character to be a "hobo dog" in the sense that he's always on the move - active, healthy, happy, curious rather than a literal representation of a hobo. I DO like the bindle stick though - I think it's fun and literal enough to work with the company name.

I think #1 represents the type of dog I like pretty well. He's independent, free, his tail is wagging. I'm still really drawn to the dog in #4 though, just because he's simple and conveys a lot of expression without the need for the full body. I like his face.

Keep up the great work, everyone!

Ok, #8, #7, and #12 are good examples of the kind of dog I am looking for.
#8 is appealing to me because of the simplicity, as is #7. (Even though #7 is a little more detailed than #8, I like the easy curves of the lines and how just a few strokes can still convey a lot of personality.) The shaggy dog in #12 is fun also.

I'm digging the orange and green colors - they compliment eachother well. I'd be open to seeing color combinations that might work that haven't been done yet if someone has anything in mind, but the green and orange is definitely working.

I've chosen to end this contest early so I can make a final decision in time to meet a deadline for an ad.
I just wanted to let everyone know - I'd hate for someone to be working on a logo and then have the contest end before having a chance to submit it. If you have one you're in the middle of, please go ahead and submit it as soon as possible (as soon as admins get my email, they will be cancelling order). If you haven't started on anything but were planning on entering, I wanted to save you the effort just in case.
Thank you everyone for your hard work and I'll do final selection/ranking during judging phase. Great job - I'm so impressed with the talent on here!
