Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions

I think we're getting somwhere. I like the last four posted by two different designers: 32 and 33 by sevi; 36 and 37 by mridg. On the first two, I haven't decided yet whether I like the 26.2 on the top or the bottom. Well, I have a very slight favorite, but I don't want to prejudice future submissions. On the last two, I think I like the more graceful sweep of the second. Notice I said, "I think." They're all so close, it will be hard later to make a decision. Incidentally, this is me for whom the logos are named: Hal Higdon, borrowing Laura's ID to comment. A lot of talented people here!

Hal Higdon(Marathon) back again. Son David commented that it might be effective to swap 13.1 and 26.2, those numbers flashing back and forth on our website. But you designers should not worry about that, since we could accomplish any fine-tuning after we declare a winner. I'm also inclined to think that the number (13.1 or 26.2) might look best lower right on the design. And adding "Run Like Hal" may simply crowd the design. David also wondered why so many designers chosed to highlight the "O" with another cover. Maybe it was because they had seen the cover of my novel "Marathon" with its "O" in another color. That worked well on the cover of the book, but may not work as well as a logo. Still, I'm willing to be swayed in any direction, so don't take my remarks too seriously. Be free!

Hi! I'm so excited to be a part of this competition, as a runner and a designer - it couldn't be more exciting! My question is where and when is this race? I'd love to try a few designs that incorporate something involving the city(?) where it would be held. Thank you!

Hello MRIDG - it's not for a race; but for the overall brand of Hal's training programs and website.

The contest has ended and those of us responsible for the Higdon brand want to thank all who submitted entries. Strangely, one designer named Molly submitted a design, but we didn't get to see it because of some quirk in the Logo People rules. (She contacted me on my Facebook page.) Too bad, because it was a nice design that I would have liked everybody to see, whether or not it would have won. So many good designs. So much talent. I believe we have a winner, but several of us have to get together on a conference call within the 7-day period to make sure everybody agrees on the next HalHigdonMarathon logo. --HH

Congratulations on your win, Sevi. We really loved the simplicity of your design, which blends with the simplicity of halhigdon.com. We will want a 13.1 variation, so we can flash back and forth between 13.1 and 26.2, but we will work with you to figure this out. --HH
