Haul SaintsLogo Design Contest

Hi Designers, Thank you all for your early entries. Its great to see a diverse range of designs and get a feel for a number of different directions. I thought I'd give some general feedback to everyone based what has already been produced.
1. I'll most likely select a logo with a separate icon (image) rather than just words.
2. I'm unlikely to select an icon made up of the letters H and S unless it can cleverly convey saintlihood, mobile delivery, or preferably both. The image could also be based on promoting our core benefits which are speed and convenience.
3. The entry I have shortlisted contains an image which combines the halo with some packages and creates a visual connection to the words. The image without the words may not make sense to most people but together they make for a stronger message.

I like what I'm seeing however. Great work.

Just thought I'd provide another update based on the entries already uploaded. Some of these have given me ideas which I would like to explore.
In addition to my previous comments, some of the images (I'll use the words 'image' and 'icon' interchangeably - I mean the image part of the logo, whereas the 'logo' is inclusive of the text) I'm seeing are relatively generic. In thinking of the icon a little more closely, my feeling is that the icon should be very simple in its form and unique in that it is a custom design and not something that can be too closely related to an existing brand. I'd also like to look at it in years to come and think "that was really clever" in that whilst being very simple it still manages to symbolise who we are what we do.
I was thinking of exploring the icon taking the form of a wing or wings. I did look at #3 and was thinking of taking the orange part of this well known symbol and stretching it to resemble 2 symmetrical wings. The wings may also look like the letter "H" and have an association with saints as well as being symbolic of flight or in our case - speed/flying to you. The closest existing logo I can think of resembling this thought would be that of Hurley ( I have attached an image).
I've also attached a collection of other images found whilst googling "wings" which I thought were very simple and could be used as a reference point.

Again, I'm happy to see whatever you guys come up with and whatever you think may work.

Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd post another comment with just over a day left in the contest. Firstly, thank you all for your entries and marvellous work. I'm thoroughly inspired by the amount of design talent I've seen and really enjoy the process of interacting with you.
I've been doodling on paper some ideas that have come into my mind and have attached the sheet as a pdf. They are by no means an instruction but I would love to see what professionals can do with them. They are only sketches and a little rough but feel free to use them, build on them or show me your own take on them. By all means feel free to come up with something completely different as well.

I'd like thank everyone for their effort and creativity during this competition. I was really impressed by the talent and how easy it was working with you. Selecting the winning design was difficult due to the large number of great options available.
