Color Preferences

I've struggled for years with logo designs, as I had the name for my gym a long time before I ever opened for business. I don't have an artistic bone in my body, so all of my personal efforts at a logo tried to incorporate some form of river imagery. Nothing looked right. I've also tried the traditional TKD fist as part of the logo, including one idea that I kind of liked where I put solid dark circles on the first to knuckles to reference the proper spots for punching.

I'm looking for a logo to convert to for a much larger marketing push, including large-backprint T-Shirts for kids and adults as well as business cards right away.

My gym teaches a very energetic class for the kids, and very down-to-earth practical techniques (mostly Hapkido) for the adults. We don't charge very much for classes because I don't want anyone priced out of the ability to learn, just for the sake of putting a few extra bucks in my pocket.

I hope this helps, please let me know if more specific feedback is useful. I'm hesitant to share too much, since I know full well that I'm awful at art decisions and couldn't begin to define what I'm looking for exactly.

After seeing a lot of these logos, I'd like to help clarify a couple of points.

I don't particularly need to see red & blue in the logos - only that, if they are there, they should be more-or-less equal in amount out of respect for the Umyang symbol.

The Umyang itself isn't critical. Good use of it is wonderful to see, but I don't have a particular attachment to it being in the final product. Please leave it out if you find it hard to work around.

I hope that is helpful!

I'm happy with the top 5 designers that I've established with this most recent ranking.
