What We Do
Great Paw is a new pet products brand. While it is primarily starting out with dog products, we plan to eventually expand to cats and other animals.
Industry
Retail
Color Preferences
We are open to most colors, but generally prefer a logo to not be too vibrant and overly colorful OR too grey and boring. Something in between on the color spectrum would be a good happy medium.

Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.

Now that we've had some logos come in, we realized that there may be a few key pieces missing in our brief. Here is some additional information which will help with new designs:

READABILITY: the text portion "Great Paw" must be readable. Imagine the logo on a product in a relatively small form-factor. If the logo is on a product and the graphic overpowers the text, it will not be readable, which means no one will see our brand name. Although the graphic may look cool, it doesn't do anything to get our brand name out.

FORM-FACTOR: We are open to both rectangular and square form factors as long as the text can be read. The key is readability as mentioned above. The most practical form factor is probably a rectangle with one line of text and a graphic since that is easiest to read, but we are open to any original form-factors as long as the text is readable.

COLORS: Please keep in mind our relatively strong "masculine" ranking along with the colorful ranking. Colors like pink and purple should not be used. We were thinking colorful, but still masculine. Some of the logos that we ranked higher have colors that are more acceptable to us. When we ranked colorful high, we wanted to stay away from black/grey/white logos, but also wanted to stay away from feminine colors.

GRAPHICS: We are open to different graphic ideas. The PAW seems to be the obvious one. However, we would stay away from the use of cats. If the graphic is a dog, it should be more cartoony, more as a mascot then us saying "we only do dogs". There shouldn't be any use of both dogs/cats. #11 uses a dog that is a bit more acceptable than a dog/cat combo like #7 or #8.

Hello everyone! I just want to let all of the top ranked designers that we will need three revisions (besides any small color changes):

1) Logo with dog graphic (most important)
2) Logo with cat graphic
3) Logo with no graphic - just text

If the top designers can please submit these versions of their logos it would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your submissions!
