Gnomish SystemsLogo Design Contest

A software company that produces software for various platforms including iPhone and web-based applications.

The logo needs to look good with a black or dark background. Potentially some metallic colors, but there is no requirements except the background.

I had a vision as to what the logo might look like when I chose the name Gnomish.
Gnomes are prevalent in vary mythologies around the world, and naturally made their ways into the fantasy genre. Gnomes, in fantasy novels, movies and games, have largely been associated as inventors and industrial innovators.

I'd like the feel to be something that has this sort of feel. Maybe including some clockworks, or some sort of industrial looking contraption... Cogs, and wheels maybe.

I associate gnomish inventions to be steam powered contraptions.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a picture in the logo, but this is the sort of feel I was going for.


The typical garden gnome statue could be incorporated as long as the invention/innovation feel is present. But this isn't a requirement.

I'm open to anything and hope that the concept inspires something in your creative juices.
