We like the idea of a river … or maybe even a "path"… but have decided that we don't want to use an actual road

We seem to like the fonts that feel a little established, or conservative, academic, or scientific.

We don't like as much the fonts that may seem overly modern, or corporate, or retail,

Sorry for the last minute request. But, we would like to see more use of the continents in the design. For example, in a few of the top ranked designs there is a mountain and open sky. Our team would like to see what it would look like with the mountains removed and replaced by "clouds in the shape of continents" OR just clean cut continent shapes.
