Discussion

Thanks for the submission - this is a nice concept!

1) The swoosh-person is good - usually I think swooshes and "pointy man" things are way overdone, but the combination of the two colored things to make up the body is very nice.

2) However... it looks fat. Luckily it's not belly fat, but it still looks fat. Gotta think thin somehow with this.

3) Don't like the font. Sans-serif is fine (although serif would also be fine) but this particular one looks too techy-future. The entire logo needs to project a degree of femininity - not enough to scare off guys, but definitely enough to immediately appeal to the 84% of my target market that is female.

Thanks again, this concept is a top contender!

Re #48 - everything's better, nice job.

The "majority green" swoosh of #48 & #49 is stronger than the "majority white" swoosh of #51. Really, I think it comes down to "make the majority of the swoosh the same color as 'FOREVER' so it contrasts with the 'GET'. For example, #46 has majority-white but that's good because that correctly sets up the contrast.

The font's definitely better. I'm not sure that it's the spot-on, wow, that's perfect font, but it's at least in the 'that would work' category now.

The swoosh person is thinner and is getting close. However, she's sticking her chest out too much and doesn't yet look thin. Has definitely been eating her veggies compared to #46, but she's not yet the inspiring, lithe, thin swoosh she aspires to be. The #51 swoosh person looks even more athletic, like a diver heading off the diving board... which isn't quite right. I'm appealing to an audience that is currently obese, and true athleticism is so far out of their conception of what they could do it's an actual turn off. (The overlap of the bottom of the swoosh and the top of the FOREVER is interesting, however.)

I'm mentally thinking that we're looking at her from the side, and I'm wondering what a 3/4 profile of swooshiness would do? That would thin out the overall shape curvature, and would deaccentuate how far back her shoulders appear, both of which I think would be good.

After you play with that, I'd like to see a variation that has her facing the other way as well. I'm thinking that we want the dynamicism pointed to the right, but not sure.

btw, after reading about the point structure around here, I'm putting just one version of a concept in the top 10, leaving all variations at 11+. That's why the other ones are so low - not because I like them so dramatically less, it's just that I want to properly reward designers for coming up with different concepts.

Thanks again for your work, it's looking really good!

About the font, you can show me the one you like and I'll try to apply it.

Re: #54 - nice! Could you face her the other way and make her bigger? Overlapping the words on the bottom line a little is fine. You might need to make her pony tail a bit more obvious - it took me a couple of looks to figure it out.

Re: #79 - very nice! I like this a lot. The addition of the extra leg, making the figure leap, is perfect. The pony tail is excellent now as well.

I wouldn't mess with the figure at this point, the shapes are great. What might push this over the top:

- Add back in the 2nd color of small swoosh to the figure, on her back for sure, don't know about the other leg but my guess is probably not;
- Try reversing the white/green on GET THIN and FOREVER
- A bit more space between the words and the figure.

This is a really strong design, I appreciate you rethinking the figure in this way.

These were all great! Re: #103 - I think the original curvy leg is better than the more sharply bent one... but I also waver back and forth on that. I love the arrow "GET" but think it might be a little over the top. For all 4 variations I'm going to get an additional opinion, but for now, 103 is it.

I'm not sure if there's anything more I can point to for improvement - it's a really strong design as is now. I'm going to be getting more opinions later on today for a final ranking of all the designs. Yours is excellent! I really appreciate the effort.

Feel free to tweak more if you'd like, but I really have no other specific feedback for you.

Re: #103 - What a fantastic design! We struggled and struggled to make a final selection. The top entries were all about evenly split - many people loved this one. In the end, it was almost a toss-up, but thinking through how the logo would translate to an animated video intro made us put this in (a very close) 2nd.

Here's one quote: "I like [#103] because the logo (person) looks strong and beautiful and the colors jump out at me. I think being fit and strong is very beautiful so it matches."

I really appreciate your hard work to get the logo to where it ended up, it's a really strong design. Please don't erase the files: I'll be doing a series of products over the next couple of years in this same space, and this might be a perfect logo for one of those. I hope you'll enter future design contests we run.

Thanks again!
