The logo #51 is striking and beautiful. I am not sure if it would work but could the i be made more like a flower for drinking at? Maybe that is too cute.
Thanks for the changes and for the example of how it would work as an iphone icon. A couple of additional suggestions:
1. The text and the colours of the bird are lined up. Would it make sense to have the flower be in the pink/purple colour range, given that it is close to the top of the logo?
2. The wing on this side of the bird is a bit too spread out at the feather tips. I suspect that the bird image might be more convincing, especially to bird watchers, if the three lines that make up the wing on this side converge more to a point, like the three lines on the other side of the bird. I hope that makes sense.
Let me describe secret ideas of my logo: 1. hummingbird symbol: unique and fascinating (as GaiaGuide want to be) and flying = freedom. 2. colors: bird is composed from complete color scheme because animals from all over the world has various colors. 3. drinking from flower: it says - get all and easy informations from GaiaGuide.
Thanks for the thoughts on what is conveyed by the logo. I had reached most of them already which is a good sign - suggests that it might work for the general public also.
Could we try the logo with the .info removed from the text.
Also, could we try moving the word Guide just a little more to the left so that the d in guide and the i in Gaia line up a bit more and so that the left side of the capital Gs follow the line of the bird's belly more closely?
The birds left wing might be able to be made a little more realistic by adjusting the darkest orange line that makes up the wing. Specifically, if you look at where that line begins, it suggests that the bird has a pretty fat body, even if that is hidden behind the foreground wing. I think the logo might be improved if that line started a little further up along the neck of the bird to suggest its streamlined body. That would probably make the left wing a bit more pointy at its tip also, which probably would not be a bad thing either.
Hopefully this just makes it easier in the final judging round.
I definitely like it more without the info. Not sure that then wing change was the right thing to do but I will be able to work my way through that over the next phase of the process. Thanks for the quick response. It is definitely looking good.
OK - consensus at this end is that the new wing is better than the old one so that should stay also. One of the people I have had looking at the rankings with me has also said that while she likes your logo, the bird looks a bit sad, perhaps because of the way its eye is drawn. Not sure what we can do to address that but it is something to think about in the next phase.
In the event that your logo entry is selected as the winner in this tournament, would it be possible for the final set of files that you send me to include the logo with a clear background in either a Photoshop or Gimp file format?
That would ensure that I can conform it to the broader colour scheme of the website and mobile applications and it will ensure that I have easy control over scale and eventual file sizes etc.
Hi Geoff, of course.. But here on logotournament i can upload as final files jpg. and eps. formats only. If you give me your e-mail adress, can sand you logo with transparent background (psd. - photoshop) and others you want.
Many thanks for your logo entries. I was a personal champion for them through the selection process but in the end, I was rolled by the majority who felt that the logo did not integrate as well into the site as the winning logo.
