Slogan
growing great produce sustainably
What We Do
My project is farming in and around Baltimore City, Maryland. Using underutilized land in the city for Urban Agriculture I seek to grow great produce in a sustainable way while also farming in the country. My growing methods integrate a cradle to cradle approach wherein the waste from one system becomes food for other systems. Composting worms process the harvested trays of microgreens into compost that I use as an amendment with my potting soil blend and compost tea fertilizer. I feed the abundance of worms generated on-site to fish in an aquaponics system. Gourmet mushrooms grow on agricultural waste and then become conservation landscaping material after fruiting.

I seek to close the ecological loop in sustainable farm management in order to revitalize the land I work on. I also seek to feed into local businesses in Baltimore City while sourcing all of my materials for production locally.
Industry
Agriculture
Color Preferences
Green for fertility and growth
Purple for Baltimore, Maryland USA (Baltimore ravens colors)
Black for boldness and contrast
White for a clean feel
... Not too set on a color scheme actually
I don't want to see too many colors so that I can print labels and things less expensively. I would be okay with gradients (or fading) of base colors used on the palette.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I like the imagery of the ensho... zen calligraphy drawn of an incomplete circle traditionally done in a single brush stroke. It represents the continuum of existence... and the ecological/psychological element of wholeness or closing the loop.

Spirals work too, and a circle as the name implies is great.

Oh yeah... I wouldn't mind seeing some orange in the color palette too... So purple green and orange as well as black (does that count As a color when I print?)

Black would count as a color. When you print brochures and such you'd likely want the text to be black or another dark color so you might want to consider using it as one of your logo colors. Do you wish to limit the number of colors? Two, three?
Thanks
And of course you can always use a one-color version when you really need to constrain costs.

#3 I like the incorporation of the design elements I had hinted at in my brief. I do like the colors and the paintbrush almost hand drawn feel to the lines... gives it that organic feel i really appreciate. I do like the contrast of script and color change in the "full circle _ urban farm" of #5 I really like the direction of the city skyline effect inside the circle (or ensho) play with that effect more with different font combinations for the subscript... looks good!

I suppose that less is more regarding colors... maybe stay away from the black background. 3 maybe four colors... i can research printing costs for materials. but play with the colors, and we can pare it down once the concept evolves

#7 I like this direction. I think that the Full Circle in one font and color and the Urban Farm in another is useful. I am trying to develop the Full Circle idea so that it could be used as the tag line when I talk about it with customers and colleagues.

Still Like #3/#1 overall... maybe with the font and color changed around

#10 and #9.. I like the fonts contrast you used in the script... the image is becoming very complicated with #10

Hey y'all . I don't have much time to respond to all of the new designs and designers. But, I do think that I am leaning to the sans serif fonts for the full circle text ... I do like the serif fonts for the sub-text. The color pallets look good and I really like the use of the ensho component in conjunction with the sprout ...

I Definately am enjoying the enthusiasm and appreciate the effort. I will be sure to make more comments as the 1st phase comes to a close. For those designs that have been put in the 'not interested' bracket. Its not that I don't like them , but there are some elements that I like in the other bracket that can be incorporated into those designs.

Ha, I wish I didn't have to work so much so I could sit down and sort through each design and comment more individually. I really must take more time to do that, but there is a solid field of designs that are really interesting and more than I would have. Een able to do myself!

Looking awesome. Just when I thought we were ready to be done... Y'all are putting a lot of concepts out there. It's hard to give a lot of feedback on this iPhone before the open session is over. I will be able to devote more time this evening when I get home from my day job. I really enjoy looking through all the work and appreciate everyone's enthusiasm...
