I want to update the contest brief with the following:

1) This text about Dover should have appeared on the original contest brief: According to its website, Dover is a predominantly residential town and provides a peaceful rural setting with many scenic roads. The residents of Dover strongly support the protection and acquisition of open space to maintain the country-like-feel. There are miles of shady trails and woods for walking, cycling, cross-country skiing, and birding, as well as access to the Charles River.

2) Please stick with designs in a green-grey scheme unless you think the additional colors add tremendous value. We want to limit the colors in the design in order to keep production costs low in the future.

Thank you all.

Thank you to the contest participants who have submitted designs. We would like to emphasize what the greenway will be after its conversion, and so incorporate less of the railroad image into the logos in order to bring out more of the public space and pathway that will result.

One possible concept that shows both the origin and the outcome would be a logo that shows the railroad in a decrepit way running into an emblem and then the greenway (vibrant, active and fun) emerging from the emblem. This would capture the transformation that we envision this project delivering.

Thank you again for your work on this, and please let us know if you have any comments or questions about the contest.

Great work to all designers who have participated in the contest. Thank you very much.

We think there is still an opportunity to submit a concept that really shows a multi-generation, multi-use depiction of the trail. Show us your thoughts on this!

Thanks again.
