#1 #2 Here is my starting point. I wanted to make the name fun by flipping the 2 i's while still being able to read it. also made an icon of 2 F's I will begin working on a few color options as well. Thanks, Glendon
I think the flipped i's are really fun. Entrey #15 has some interesting potential. I like how it symbolizes a lot, such as the circle of life connected by 'i', the playful nature of the concept, etc. This might be a fun one to play with. I think the font is a bit too light - I was thinking of a stronger/bolder look. But great first entries! Thank you so much.
Hi Gendon - your logos are great! #4 is still my favorite. I don't love the blue and orange color combo. Would you be able to try it in a few different other colors? It might look like with 2 shades of blue and then maybe something fun like green for the dots on the 'i's. It should look really professional with a hint of playfulness. Somehow the blue and orange look a little too childlike to my eye.
Hi Taryn I uploaded a few color options for you to check out. let me know how you feel about these, and I will go from there with the other logo options as well. Thanks, Glendon
Thanks for the additional colors! Somehow the two tone blue makes the logo seem boring now that I look at it. There is a logo with a lightbulb in it that has a fun color combination. It blends warm and cool colors well so it feels like there is balance - it freels fresh. Symbolically the word Flip part does symbolize light - as in a flip a light switch, or make a turnaround. So there might be a way to play with color to get some additional symbolism in the logo.
Also, the upside-down 'i's can look like exclamation marks, which is fun. Maybe there is a way to play with color and shape on the 'i's.
If you're up for it, I'd love you to keep playing with #4 and #31 - trying different font weights (or even different fonts) and colors, even some different shapes with the 'i's. This is still my favorite logo - and I think with some more playing around it could turn into a really fantastic logo. I would try putting the tagline in with the logo so we can see how that looks. That might be a place to play with a 3rd color like green. It might also be interesting to play with a gradient in the lettering? Just some ideas. Thank you so much for your great designs!
#142 Here is a new typeface. To make the i's a bit more dynamic I tilted them which adds a bit of movement to the logo. I will be exploring different options on this logo as well as the one you currently have ranked 10th.
Hi there - I like the new color and font variations. One thing I don't love is the way the 'i's are now at an angle. It makes the logo look too kid-like, and the audience is definitely adults who are interested in personal development and take it seriously. The branding for this company walks a really fine line.....the product is based in deep science and is really effective, yet I wanted to have a hint of playfulness about it. I think the name and colors and the upside down 'i' all add the playfulness to it. Putting the 'i's at an angle sort of crosses that fine line. Thoughts?
I hope you had fun last night! Thanks for the additional logos. It's nice to see different font weights tried out. I think I am having a hard time deciding on which one I like because I don't love the color scheme. The blue, green and orange are all too light I think. Or maybe it's just the green and blue shades I don't love. I think the colors need to be more saturated. Also, I think it would look better with just 3 colors instead of 4. I really like the color combo in logo #145. Could you play around a bit more with the colors and see what you come up with? The logo should look bold and strong and have a hint of playfulness to it. #168 is actually a very clever ambigram and I like the concept a lot. It might look better to have it a bit smaller. But I do think that logo has some possibility too.
I really like #192. I like the color gradient. Is there a way to make this look just a bit more feminine? Maybe that is through a different color scheme? I think maybe purples would work better to soften it up. I want the name to speak for itself with this logo, so not much is needed in the way of fancy graphics (I definitely think you understand this point.) I wonder if it might look good to try it out with a different font, maybe the word Flip is in a different font? I think in general the designs across the whole contest have started to look a bit too masculine and overdone and I'd love to go back to something simple, smart and bold, yet a hint more feminine. :-)
Hi Taryn, Here are a few more samples for you. I kept the simplicty of each one. I'm starting to try a few ideas to make it a bit more feminine without going overboard, just a slight suggestion of fem;)
HI there - seeing so many logos is making me realize what I do and don't like. Funny enough, the very first one you submitted #4 is still in my top three. Here is what I like: I like the lighter font weight on the word Freudian and a heavier font weight on the word Flip. I am leaning toward doing the logo in purple and maybe orange (or green or another shade of purple or another color that's not blue). I like the way many of the other designers have used a color gradient in the lettering. You used that look in #233 and I like it. So, I think we are back to playing around with #4 just a bit more. I'd love to see a tagline incorporated into this logo (like you've done for the others). The taglines are really fun a big part of the branding so they should be noticeable. It might be worth doing the taglines in another font - even something a bit more playful.
#244 #245 #246 #247 I went back to the #4 entry and tweaked it a little bit. The most notable difference ( other then color) is the spacing between letters and the word flip has a little more character to it.
I love the new ones you submitted. Actually, right now #244 is my favorite. I like it all in the one color with the different gradients. Would you be able to try that in some blue tones? I like the saturated brighter turquoise used in the letter "n" in #230.
Also, I'm not sure I have a love connection with the elongated P. Maybe only the second 'i' is flipped upside down? Anyway, this logo is still the leader....any other tweaks you can think to make would be welcome! :-)
#283 #284 Here is the purple and blue versions. First i is upright, and the ascender on the P was adjusted. let me know if you like these, In the meantime, I will try out a few more tweaks. Glendon
I like the colors in #284. I think it looks better with both 'i's flipped, now that I see it (as in #244). Would you be able to try #284 with a different blue for the tagline? I think it looks a little too flat with the entire logo and tagline in one color. Or if you have ideas on how to do this logo with other shades of blue, I'm open to that too! :-)
I like the colors in #304 and I like the longer P in #244. If there is anything you can do to make the turquoise pop a bit more, that would be great. Maybe it's a slightly different shade of turquoise that we need?
Sorry to extend the contest. The logo isn't exactly just right and with all this work I thought another day or two would be good. I'm wondering if you can make a few small tweaks.
1. Would it be possible to make the dots on the 'i's round instead of square? The logo looks just a bit too serious and I wonder if there are some small things we can do to make it just a bit more playful.
2. I don't love the new turquoise color. There are 2 color combos I'm playing with. The orange/purple and the turquoise/teal. The turquoise should be really bright and vibrant, but a bit lighter than what you have here. Can you take #244 and make the word Freudian in orange? And can you take #422 and play with the turquoise color a bit to lighten it up and make it feel more like the turquoise waters of a Caribbean beach?
3. I do like the color gradients. You can play around a bit more with that and see what else you come up with.
In general this is still my favorite logo, but like I said it needs to look both a bit more fun and the colors need to be just right. If you have any little things you can do to enhance it, I'm open. The overall branding is like apple.com with that clean, white interface. It has a science angle, but definitely a fun playfulness and warmth to it. That is why either the orange/purple combo could work, or a brighter, breezier turquoise color combo that has both energy and tranquility to it.
Thank you sooo much for so many options and all of the work on this!
Hi there - thanks for the 2 additional blues. Can you try it using the lighter blues from the color palette included in the creative brief? Another link to it is here:
I like the way the gradients work in the orange/purple logos but not in the blue ones. Maybe it's just 2 solid colors used in the blue version? I do like the rounded 'i's better. I would really prefer this logo in blue so let's find the right way to do it. It should look bright and clean and I think the grey in the gradient is making it look too steely or technical or something to me.
Also, can you try #244 but with orange for the word Freudian?
