Our Ideas & Additional Information
I am a high end entertainment company specializing in entertainment and DJ services right now. Freakin' Awesome is my Brand though, as I branch into other areas I want my logo to be malleable and useful in other areas if I decide to branch out into other service businesses across every sector. I don't want speakers or microphones or anything that will stick out as just a DJ company. I want this logo to be practical to use. I would like to be able to easily reduce it to cheaply imprint merchandise, I would like to be able to letter my vehicles with cut vinyl. I would like to be able to swap out the word "Entertainment" with "Incorporated" or whatever. I would like to be able to make simple flyers myself without having to licence a special font from an agency that is holding me hostage. Even though I want simple to use, that doesn't mean I want bland. The logo that is going to win this tournament is the one that causes somebody to say, "That's Freakin' Awesome" when they see it.

Note to all designers: The entry that wins this contest may just be the one that completely ignores my sliders and most of the information in the brief and just makes me a logo that everybody will agree is Freakin' Awesome. I am hiring you because you are artists with your own ideas. Feel free to explore the possibilities. The first time I ever had a logo done for a business the designer asked me exactly what I wanted. I answered every question not knowing what sort of impact it would have on the final product. An awesome designer made me the terrible logo I asked for. I didn't get want any outlines on the lettering or the 3D effect, I wanted all these minute details nobody could see... The logo only looked good in a few applications. The customer doesn't always know what they want. I can't make all the decisions along the way. If I could, I would make my own logo first and hire somebody to refine it. I am hiring you guys because you know what to do. Pick some colors and concepts YOU like and blow me away with your original concept. ---------------------------------What about a high energy mark that gives a feeling of excitement and joy? Something, anything, some symbol that will convey the emotion in the statement "That's Freakin' Awesome"

#55. The F is much more defined in this one.

#56 Nice. Is that a volume button or a yin yang? If it's a yin yang please no hidden symbolism of that nature. This design is cool, I can see the F reversed so that it looks like an A, but it also looks like two M's. I would like to see some completely new colors in future submissions. I don't think the pink and blue is working. Maybe blue and something else or just a completely new color pallet.

#57. Again, a nice new fresh idea. Maybe I would like it better if the F was a little taller than the A. Maybe even if the A was hanging off the bottom line of the F... Maybe not. I know I like it, but it bothers me a little how it overlaps. Not that it does overlap, just the way it overlaps.

#58. Great original idea. I like it. This would be very easy to reduce to an outline that wouldn't take up much ink so I could print my own fliers without draining my ink cartridge.

#59, #60, #61, #62, #63, #64

Thank you for these variations. It is interesting what a rounded corner can do. I am going to have to spend some time chewing on these in order to figure which I like best

#65 #66 #67 #68

I like this. I don't think I can do the talk bubble bomb but that is very creative. It will take some time for me to decide whether or not I want the shiny edge around the lettermark on the bomb, but the one color version does look good, and that says a lot about your design.

#69. Better, you don't have to look for the A

#70. Very nice. You are now a contender again. I like the new design, and the reflection is great

#71 and #72. I like how the outline from number #47 was removed in this revision. It looks cleaner. I still like the colors in #47 though.

Note to all designers: My participation will be limited on the last day of the contest. (Thursday) I will be headed up into the mountains, bogging my four by four through waist deep mud puddles to get up to a camping site. If I have signal I will be using my laptop to update things but I don't know if I can.

To all designers: Lets get away from the FA letter combinations and try something completely new. I think I have seen enough variations. Please, just go crazy, drop an original concept and see what happens. Thank You. Please do not withdraw your existing combinations though. I may end up choosing one. I just think I've seen enough fonts and combos to know what I want. I can't imagine there is much more you can do to combine these two letters and want to see some other options.

#73. Better still.

#74 and #75. Nice, simple, gets the point across. I like it.

All my friends waited until I had the design field narrowed and most the other designers stopped doing contests for me to let me know they don't like my top pics at all. Any time before now would have been great to let me know that. That's why I have been sending you countless emails and text messages. Now I don't know what the heck to do.

#91, Nice. I like it, other than it spells Woe down the middle. I don't know if that's a deal breaker or not.

#92. Very creative, and the two angles are nice. It would be great if I only did TV or web stuff and could animate it as a 3d model that turned, but I don't think it's useable in a 2-D medium.

#87 and #88. I like #88 more. I like that fact that you created a little character for me. It's nice. This one isn't winning out but maybe some other variation of a character would work.

As far as the tag line goes it will be used in these contexts:
You'll be saying, "That's Freakin' Awesome"
Need somebody who will listen? That's Freakin' Awesome

Not great examples, but you know what I mean. The other tag line I use in advertising is:
Just. Dial. Awesome.

#93 and #94. I like the wordmark portion of #93 more, it seems more readable, but I don't like the background/colors on #93 as much as #94. Good job fixing the cutout on the exclaimation point.

#95, I just don't get this design.

UPDATE: I have mobile internet and am bringing my laptop. I will judge the contest and update you all as best I can from the middle of nowhere, where no regular vehicle dare drive, I will be on my laptop in my 4X4 waiting for the design that is going to win this contest. If you can find something that captures the emotion behind somebody exclaiming, "That's Freakin' Awesome" you will win this contest. It will however have to be something special to sway me from my top two pics. Thank you all for your hard work, this has been fun.

Connection fading, I may not get to rank again. If I can I will swap a few things but with no new designs that catch my eye my number one and two will stay the same

Thank you all for the hard work. I just got through my 3 1/2 deep mudbog and finally got all the water out of my truck enough to plug my laptop in and put in my "final" rankings. I am going to enjoy the rest of my trip and should make a final decision in about 4 days. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and have already referred 4 business owners to this site. Have a great day, I will be checking in in a few days to finish judging the contest.
