Yes, clean and simple, first impression is very nice.
The tagline may not be quite strong enough.
The "and" is interesting how it adds a splash of color and wakes up the text.
The line between content and websites maybe too much, it creates a boundary between the two whereas they are interwoven and unified. The additional blue takes away a bit from the blue "and", too
We got good feedback on #79, but they felt it was a bit "whispy", can the elegance remain along with added strength? Also, can you try the logo at fnu.serveronline.net and see if it will work with the existing website?
yeah will work on some new designs when i get home tonight. looking at the website looks like it would fit nicely as the site uses helvetica (or arial, same thing) which is the same as the logo's font
Revision: Changed tagline font to regular as opposed to light and repositioned. Feels more balanced at this location I think. More revisions to come later if needed
#111 Thanks for this concept. Please try a bounding box around the entire logo, but not around the tagline. Please try to add definition to the font, maybe not quite as soft a color. Check out http://firstandunion.com for color ideas. We will modify our site so the logo fits on the lift and move the navigation up to the top similar to alistapart.com, however, please *take care* after seeing this site that our logo wouldn't remind anyone of this alistapart.com. I like the way the left aligned First is shorter than the Union, it looks a bit downtown-ish.
The and might be able to be a bit larger and not necessarily fit inside the t or the t space could be wider.
We are looking for lots of variations on this theme now.
Revision: Rounded corners on the bounding box. If there's any particular parts of individual styles you want to combine with others let me know and I will mock one up
A bounding box that separates the name from the tagline won't quite work. We want the reader to flow down through the tagline without a break and for it to feel like reading lines from a book (or web page)
The colors you chose did add a lot of strength to the design which is what we requested.
Please check out firstandunion.com and imagine the logo in the top left corner of the website.
I think we will modify the two big blue boxes to work better with the logo, maybe even take them out and just have text at the top.
