Hello everyone,

Thanks for these logos, this is a pretty good start !
Just a few precisions : we find it important that the logo stands on a white background ; keep also in mind that an iPhone application will be developped (to help people find the exhibitions they like around them) so the logo will be declined in a square format and must have a distinctive element ; and finally don't hesitate to be more playful.

We now see logos which work with iPhone, this is great!
We are looking for a strong idea, as in the logos we like (attached file) : a concept that creates a real identity. Our goal is that people remember our logo and identify it on the spot.
Morever (but that's not compulsory) we would be glad to see logos that recall exhibitions in a abstract way.

So we now have a sample of different logos. Thank you.
The ones we selected are sober (which is good), but we would like to see more fun.
Maybe there could be less masculinity too, try to be softer and smoother : exponaute is a trendy website, for wired and urban people... not a men perfume ! ;-)

Let’s take a new start…

We may have been too restrictive in our brief, and we are not very pleased by the direction taken during the last days of this contest (logos are too sober, masculine and sad...). It’s our fault and we sincerely apologized for that.

We have changed our brief to let you be more creative for this contest:

- We have changed the top three things to communicate through our logo.
- We have added an attachment for a second version of logos we like. You will find there more colourful, round and playful logos.
- We have added two styles (pictural mark and web 2.0)
- The logo will be used only on internet. No print anymore
- We have no color preference anymore. Feel free to play with colors

We also have decided to unrank all past logos.

We hope this new brief contest will help you. Don’t look at the past, read the new brief and take a whole new start!

some comments :

#1 and #68 : interesting work on the font, but unfortunately not related to art exhibitions
#12 : strong idea but this logo uses capital letters, is not made for a website, and is too square
#14 : the font is better than in #12, smoother, but not bold enough. The sign is too close to the fedex arrow
#19, #20, #60 and #61 : interesting work on the two first letters (e and x) but not related to art exhibitions
#69 and #70: good attempt to express the “naute” part of the word but what really need to be expressed is “expo” (art exhibition). #70 has a good energy.
#62 : too masculine
#65 and #66 : too classic, underlined, not related to art exhibitions
#49 : interesting idea (paint lines for X) but too kiddy, we’re not keen on this kind of colour too
#74 and #75 : too institutional and fonts should be less common
#59 : too serious (looks like an airlines company)
#71 : more fantasy in the sign, but the sign should be integrated in the word “exponaute”, and the font is too square

Some comments on the ranked logos :

#82 : interesting idea with colors (vibrating effect). But the overall impression is too black and not fun enough. The shape evocates something too negative (forbidden sign or pirate flag). The font is not convincing.
#117 : we like this idea of mixed colors in the letters. But colors are not bright enough and it looks too kiddy. Too many letters ? perhaps this effect should be applied only on « expo »
#103 : we like the font and the idea. But the shape doesn’t recall art exhibitions but a TV set.
#102 : we like the colored dots but not the shape. Too many ideas. The shape should be very simple

Keep in mind that exponaute talks about any kind of art, not only painting but also contemporary art, design, photo, video…
