What We Do
We are a bilingual Christian charity operating in Wales (UK) that serves Christians and churches by running events and conferences, providing training and support, producing resources and encouraging unity and prayer.

Religious
Color Preferences
Our existing colour scheme is black, white and red(CMYK:15/100/0/0 (#CC0000))
We don't want to see major changes from this, but the addition of other colours could help modernise the logo. Previous versions of the logos have used Green (red and green - welsh) and yellow (new dawn)
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We are looking for a new typography for the name and an update of our logo. The new logo must be instantly recognisable as part of the historical family of logos that we have used over the years (see attached). The various elements of the logo are - the cross coming out of the Bible - signifying that the cross is preached from the Bible. Behind it all is a circle representing the sunrise, this shows that there is blessing and growth linked to the work. Early versions had mountains, signifying the Welsh link.
As we are a bilingual organisation (Welsh and English) we will require different versions of the finished design delivered: 1) The logo with the name 'Evangelical Movement of Wales 2) The logo with the name 'Mudiad Efengylaidd Cymru' 3) The logo with 'EMW' 4) The logo with 'MEC' 5) A version with both English and Welsh on it. The typography must be suitable to fit all these variations. Our strap line is 'Serving the Church' 'yn gwasanaethu'r Eglwys' - this can be incorporated.
We would like to see if incorporating the name and strap line with the logo can modernise and significantly change the look of the logo (whilst keeping it obviously linked with our old logos).

One issue we have when using the logo (especially as a small part of an advert) is that placing the writing under the logo makes it difficult to read (it's too small) - it also makes the name look detached from the logo. Are there any ways of incorporating the name with the logo - or to the side?

Our website is www.emw.org.uk - this gives some idea of what we do. We are currently re-designing the website - so we're moving away from the style and typography found in it.

Thanks so much for the ideas that are coming in. We really like the creative developments of the logo.
Regarding the logo we would like to investigate if the elements of serving and experience could be further developed.

I'm also interested to see if we can develop the typography - so that the name is the major part of the logo - with a simple (smaller logo) to the side of the E.

Design community - thanks so much for the work - there are a number of logos that we are really interested to develop further in the next phase. Just as we are finishing the open phase - would someone like to develop the idea of having the name all on one line. The logo is used mostly on brochures and letterheads - therefore there is a possibility we could opt for a llong landscape format. Thanks
