Thank you for your design. I'm not sure it will work for my logo, but I'm really, really impressed that you extracted the 'M' from the logo in the brief. Well done!
Hi Bruce, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry for join too late on your contest, so I have not enough time (just 2 hours left) to find idea for you. However, once again thank you for your feedback. I hope you can get the best at the end.
Thank you. Please let me know if you need know some options on #153. I will happy to do it. However, I may off line for now, but I will be back 4 to 5 hours from now.
#153 is your best design. It visually stunning and clever. I'm just not sure I can make it work for me. I'm trying though -- I keep looking at. But somehow it didn't work out as well on a white background.
Let know if you want to keep working on it, otherwise, I may end the contest early (tomorrow; 12 hours from now).
Hi Bruce, Thank you for your latest feedback, I really appreciate it so much! On the rest time before you end the contest, I will try harder to find out if there are any ideas based on my current entries that may be work better.
Hi Naura, #191 is another great entry. Again, I like how you've used elements of the logo in the brief. Brilliant. You're making it more difficult to judge this context. ;-) -- Bruce
Can you please try out the following two ideas with #191? - A larger 'E' - A smaller 'M' One combination of these two ideas should produce a version that looks like 'mixed' case, e.g., "Emxsys".
Hi Naura, Just a little more information about my previous request: I can envision one version of #191 with the 'E' the same as the first curve, and the 'XSYS' the same size as the second curve. I'm sure there are other variations, but that's the direction I'm going. -- Bruce
Hi Naura, I like the serif font in #194 too. As #191 matures, I wouldn't mind seeing a version of it with the font in #194. Although I'm not placing much emphasis on the tagline, I do like your color treatment of it in #194. -- Bruce
Hi Naura, The #234 design concept is worth exploring. However, I think I'd like a bolder san-serif font for this treatment, similar to what you used in #205 or #188. Also, working in a bit of the yellow highlights like you used in #207 would be good too. The colors in the #207 are the best of all the logos in the contest. Thanks, -- Bruce
Hi Naura, Here's some additional ideas for the 'X', I hope I can describe them well enough: - Use a straight line for the stroke that moves down from left to right - Use a "curved" line for the other stroke, with the color and arrow treatment from #207 - The 'X' does not have any serifs on the ends. - The end of the 'X' at the upper-right could terminate in a right-angle to simulate a point or arrow-head. These are just ideas. I hope they help, -- Bruce
First, you've earned my ranking as top designer! Congratulations!
I've given you a lot of feedback recently, I hope it's not confusing. Now I'd like to comment on #233. It seems to have the greatest potential. But first, some background: - Most of my friends have given higher rankings to designs with some sort of abstract treatment to the 'X' - I have preferred the 'X' to look somewhat like the font, so that it remains readable.
Focusing on the overall impression of #233: - Currently, it's too "thin" for me; it should be wider and shorter - a little more masculine - like the font in #188. - The abstract 'X' will appeal to my friends - The design captures the essence of the 'curves' - The design has a hint of the 'fish' symbol used in Christianity, like this: http://0.tqn.com/d/christianity/1/7/f/2/Christian_Fish.png
I am a Christian, and I prayed that God would give you inspiration in these last minute efforts. I'm happy with the results.
I want to explore the design of the curves; I'd like add more of the Christian fish symbol influence: - The curves should be elongated to the left and right - The right end of the curves should terminate at the apex of the arch, like the tail of the Christian fish symbol. - The left end of the curves should imply that they meet behind the "EMX" text, again, like the Christian fish symbol.
Here's my idea for the letter 'X' within EMXSYS: - The lower half of the curves are dark or black - The at the letter X, the curves transition to red - The upper half curves transition to another color - the highlighted red/yellow perhaps, like in #207.
--- Another color combination for the X is that the 'X' is black and the upper and lower curves are different colors.
Yes! #236 is a great start on this concept. The basic shape is there. I like the offset between the top and bottom lines. And I like the colors. Good work. Now we need to introduce the "arrows" like we have in #207: - I think the ends of the "fish tail' should end with an arrowhead points. - I think there should be an arrowhead point embedded in the curves near the right edges of the M, so that the 'X' is delineated by the arrowheads. - You can play with the placement of the arrowheads and the ends of the fish tail to form a good 'X'
FYI: Just in case you want to know, the "curves" in all of these diagrams represent forest fire "fuel temperatures" going up and down over time -- black/cold at the bottom, and yellow/hot at the top of the curve. The arrows represent whether the fuel is heating or cooling.
Hi Naura, Nice. #238 and #240 have the correct arrowheads on the left side of the 'X'. But, we need to work on the colors; they should be more like #236: - please make the 'X' red, - please make the curve above the 'EM' red and yellow. Thank you, -- Bruce
Yes! #245 is getting really close now. The basic color scheme is correct. I think we may be just a few revisions away from the final. There are two remaining items to work on: - the 'X' needs to contrast more, perhaps a stronger gradient. - the arrowheads at the end of the 'X' should just be points, no 'barbs' on them.
I have to go to a meeting; I'll be gone for a few hours. Thanks, -- Bruce
I created a crude mockup of the ideal 'X' from #247 and #236. You can view it here: https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/1sZS6okkplkn3v Can you make a pretty version from this? You may notice that: - the 'X' is smaller - the right side of the 'X' uses the ends from #236 - the left side of the 'X' uses the ends from #247 - the top curve uses the colors from #236
I didn't attempt to do any color blends in the mockup. I don't have those skills.
Hi Naura, #248 is really close. I created two more mockups based on #248. They are here: https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/1szgdAlu9T6oLL - In both examples, the "tail" has increased in height - In the bottom example, the top curve's gradient is red-to-yellow.
I think I will be choosing between these two and #248.
