Color Preferences
One or two colors would be ideal. Overall white background, but feel free to be bold with color. Please choose colors that harmonize with the parent company logo colors (see attachment - magenta, lime green, med. sky blue), but it doesn’t have to be those colors exactly.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Ideally, the logo should be relatively simple and easily recognized from a distance. It would be great if there were some whimsy or fun in it. It needs to appeal to young people – hip/cool, but not so out there that an older person can’t relate to it. We’re looking for a logo that will work well in a social media environment, so we’re particularly interested in a design that fills a square space (vs. elongated horizontal), whether it’s a wordmark or wordmark combined with an abstract element. It should have the words “Empower Youth” (upper and lower case or all caps). Must be scalable and printable on a variety of products. We’re not emphasizing the “E” and “Y” as focal points.

Hello Designers!

Please note - I have removed the request for "TM" (trademark) in the design.

#6 is a good example of the kind of 'stacked' design that has a strong presence within a square space - which works well in social media. It also looks scale-able and the design element and word elements can be separated for printing/branding purposes.

Designs elements in #3, #7 and #8 have done a good job of conveying community & energy.

Thank you!

Hello Designers,

Your creativity and design entries are very much appreciated! I am learning from the process, and here is what I know from the designs that have emerged so far:

The blues and greens in the top-ranked designs are the preferred colors.
In the final design, I'm looking for:
* a compact shape that functions well within social media environments (aka within a square box shape)
* a strong energy and presence with both word and accent design elements
* an accent design that can convey the meaning separately, and stand alone without the words
* an accent element that expresses energy, synergy, community...maybe even a little whimsy/fun

#32 best captures this so far, and has been the most popular among the young people I've asked for feedback.

#50 does an awesome job of working with the colors and shading, especially in the words.

#28 has also gotten good feedback from the youth I've surveyed. only...the accent design element might not stand alone very well.

#46 the "connection" and kind of magical feeling that is conveyed through the stars between the figures in this design is pretty cool...it just won't work for the 'square space' requirement.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for all the entries!

The contest is being extended so that I can survey a number of teens and young people to get their response to the logos over the next several days.

If you are a designer that has a different 'take' (without the swoosh & stars, etc.) on how to express community, energy/synergy, and boldness and strength - we'd love to see it! As the teens look over the top-ranked designs, something well-done and different would certainly stand out, and if they love it, it could move to the top.

Thank you!
