Thanks again for the feedback!
I liked the black and white for this design because, as a whole, it creates a very bold feel. Something that is recognizable from a mile away and can printed at a very small size without losing it's strong brand. The beauty is that you can change the black to virtually any color without losing the strength of the brand. If you were printing on an off-white t-shirt, a brown would look nice ( #25 ) or if printing on a black background, the black can be swapped out with white or yellow. All without compromising the feel of the logo!
I intentionally kept a lot of differences between your logo and Soul Train's. It's close enough to spark most people's memory but side by side, there's a ton of differences (the "S" in particular is completely different). When your talking about 4 letters, small differences count!
#23 shows "Elena's" using a similar font to
#1 - I wouldn't feel comfortable copying the exact font from another designer's logo but I think this font has a similar feel. The E has been moved back into the logo.
#24 shows some flourish accents. There's a lot of different directions I could take accents like that so let me know if you'd like to see some variations!
