Color Preferences
The company has operated with a red/black color/brand theme for the past 10 years - it would be preferable to retain red and black in the new logo - but this is not set in stone - other options will most deffinetly be considered.

Our current logo (attached) uses PMS 200cv for the red - however we are by no means committed to keeping this exact color.

Nothing too flashy in terms of colors - no neons.

Minimize fading - difficult and more expensive to print.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We don't want to sway the contest in one direction or another - so we will minimize our commentary in this section. Please be as creative as possible, and only use the below suggestion as a 1 idea for a unique design.

One designer once proposed using opposing backward "D"'s to represent "Downtown Decorations" - somewhat playing on the Dolby Surround Sound logo - possibly even incorperting an upperclass "I" inbetween the two opposing "D"s - this would allow us to brand ourselves using the intials "DDI" - We would like to see some options using this format but by no means DO NOT LIMIT designs to the initial idea proposed above.

I cannot over emphasize how important it is for our new logo to embody the message that we don't just decorate "downtowns" - we are the premier providers of both banners and decorations to all commercial markets. We are somewhat in a pinch due to our name - we have built a great reputation and wouldnt want to undermine this; however, at the same time we have grown tremendously from when we started. When the company started we catered primarily to the municipal market - however as we have grown we have developed positioning as the industry leaders in providing commercial decor and banners to shopping centers as well. Our name inherently hurts our pursuit of greater penetration in the retail market - it is our hope that YOUR awesome new logo will find a middle ground for us!

Really like design #1 the strong opposing D's draw immediate attention and work to promote our primary objective that is to YELL to our various markets that we just don't decorate "downtowns" - we are the premier national providers of commercial decorations and banners to all markets and industries including retail centers, colleges, event venues, etc... Great work strong logo. The chevron makes us think of the auto/petro/airline industry - any way to use the same style of design and come up with alternative image/abstract linkage between the D's...?

Not a big fan of designs #2 - #5 because they somewhat undermine the primary objective. By utilizing a skyscraper type building in the logo - it only furthers the notion that we primarily work with municipalities or in "downtowns." Our objective is to YELL to our various markets that we just don't decorate "downtowns" - we are the premier national providers of commercial decorations and banners to all markets and industries including retail centers, colleges, event venues, etc...

Thanks Dragonfly - really like Entry # 7 and #8 - not big on #9. Entry #7 is a favority because it utilizes the "i" in between the D's - we commonly refer to ourselves internally and to the market as "DDI". Great work!

Thanks everyone! The designs are looking great. I really like the take on the logo thus far but would really like to see something "different" All of the general/standard ideas have been submitted - please WOW us now with some more abstract or distinctive designs - please minimize gradiation/shadows. Also please feel free to work in other colors OTHER THAN red - but please try to keep to no more than 3/4 inks. Looking forward to seeing if anyone can submit a design with WOW factor in the next 24hrs...

Thanks to all of the designers that have submitted concepts thus far! Now that we are down to the last 24hrs - please WOW and DAZZLE us with some unique, fun, exciting, one-of-a-kind concepts! Take a look at the concepts that have been already provided and then do a 180 deg. turn and come up with something completely different and new. Also feel free to try some different COLORS - try to limit to no more than 3 colors and minimize shading/gradiation!

Thanks again!!! This has been a great process and we look forward to recommending all designers that submit entries!
