Exclamation mark used as a the logo to reinforce the "can do" attitude.

Mike,

Hmmmm... I like the red square... what else could we do with it?

I'm really open to anything - my main concern is people seeing the new logo and understanding that it connects to the old - perhaps a good test would be to put both the old unconsulting logo next to your new ideas and see if they are congruent. I could see literally doing this on some of my sales collateral - where the upper left of a document has the old unconsulting.com logo and the upper right has the new logo.

As I start the transition to the new brand, Do It Marketing might initially become a service offering of unconsulting. So both logos need to look like they "fit"

I understand that this kind of rebranding effort is among the hardest for designers because you may feel you have one hand tied behind your back - but within defined limits, there is immense creative freedom!!

Eager to see more great ideas from you...

#58 may look stronger with all caps rather than lower case - not sure about the square brackets in this one.

#57 Not crazy about this one simply because from a practical standpoint, it's neither a horizontal logo nor a vertical one - so the application of it on business cards, websites, etc. would be challenging in its current layout.

Could we see 1-2 all horizontal treatments and 1-2 all vertical treatments?

Thanks David - it's good to get something out there as a starting point - I'll keep thinking. Thanks for the feedback. Very helpful.

Mike,

#84 is just strong as hell... hmmm that's my #1 choice right now... and it's going to be tough to beat!!

Anything I'm not thinking of as far as practical application? For example, this would look great on a website but on printed sales materials and even a business card, I'd love to see a version that also integrates the four words: "Design Organize Implement Track" [separated by round -- or square -- bullets in a matching red color to the big square]

How might that be done without compromising the very clean and strong main logotype?

#74 This is great, too - but it seems to me we have a case of "dueling" exclamation points.

What if we lose the ! after DO IT! and change the colors to 2 red brackets surrounding a black exclamation point.... or would that be less intriguing than your three-color idea here?

Thanks for your enthusiastic participation on this one!!

Emphasizing DOIT!

Mike,

#224 is on top - awesome. The arrows are genius because it is indeed a process -- and the arrows make that crystal clear!

I'd like to see a couple of very minor variations on this one, specifically:
===
1. the word MARKETING in the current font weight but color = gray rather than black
2. the word MARKETING in a lighter weight font (as in #84)
3. the tagline arrows made just a little smaller in size and using filled right-facing BLACK triangles rather than > symbols
4. the tagline arrows made just a little smaller in size and using filled right-facing GRAY triangles rather than > symbols

Oh - almost forgot. Please revise the final red color used in the design to this web-safe color, depending on your spec of choice:

HTML #CC0000
RGB (204,0,0)
CMYK (0,80,80,20)

Thanks!!!

Thanks David - just so you know the arrows are custom designed, not just a font. I feel they give it a movement across the tag line. But if you like the triangles that's absolutely fine!
Other versions in order after this one.

Gray 'marketing' AND gray bullets.

For me, looking at them all lined up, the marketing in gray makes that word stronger rather than knocking it back. The contrast makes it stand out. I think because the DOIT box is so strong we can get away with Marketing being this size - it just works. Thanks for all the feedback, here and in the general area, really appreciate it. Your tips about VW etc got me thinking on how I could fine tune.

Hmm, maybe the gray Marketing is working better... it highlights the tag line more.

Just so you know, it can work as a horizontal format - you might want this for some print applications - promo pens??

For me the > icons give it a conveyor-belt look (in a good way!) - movement. I still like the triangles as they seem to emphasize the words of the tag line better.

Mike,

#238 is the winner. With this design, we're keeping your brilliant custom-designed arrows. I agree with you - they're like a conveyor belt in a good way ;o)

I just need three VERY minor tweaks and then we'll announce the winner, award the ribbons, and celebrate!!

1. Please change the word "Design" in the tagline to the word "Define"

2. We need to do some microsurgery to make the word MARKETING ever so slightly narrower so it *looks* like it fits neatly and tightly under the DOIT block. Right now, we have an optical illusion going on where the word MARKETING - because of the M and the G at either end - looks slightly wider than DOIT [Do you see what I mean?]

3. Similar microscopic narrowing of the "Define > Organize > Implement > Track" block to make it look like it fits perfectly under the word MARKETING.

This was a well-deserved win. Thank you for all your hard work and perseverance, not to mention brilliant designs.
