What We Do
Pets (not limited to dogs and cats),nature photography in client's home and restoration of old photographs.
Industry
Miscellaneous
Color Preferences
No red, black grey or yellow. Prefer two color logo no more then three colors. If green used must be used with nature association.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I had the idea of an image using animal silhouettes but did not want a flat black logo. Main issue was how to incorporate the idea of photo restoration into an image but could not think of an avenue. That is why I will accept other two. I prefer the logo to focus on Pets and photo restoration...more subtle use of nature within it. Prefer Pictorial mark if at all possible to use three aspects of business. I can state if pictorial done and works, it will be heavily considered.

#1 Creations 770 is company name prefer company as one line.
LLC indicates in U.S. what type of company and can be omitted but better would be to keep company name on one line, and reduce font size on LLC. (In the U.S. LLC is like saying Corp (corporation) Creation 770 is company name and LLC indicates what type of company).

This concept is okay but does not indicate I also do photo restoration (Photo restoration is retouching, and enhancement for vintage or new photographs). I prefer a design that incorporates the photo restoration.

Also NOTE: BLACK can be used for company name only. Pictorial work in color. That would mean black can be used but only in lettering. Doing so makes logo three colors. Sorry for any confusion, (I generally don't consider black or white as colors).

Earth tone is okay. I prefer vibrant color to communicate "live" "alert" "aware"
What does this logo say I do? It doesn't seem to offer any concept I may be a photographer. I am being direct in hopes of letting anyone who competes have some idea of what I am looking for. I have been trying to come up with an idea for a logo for over 6 months. I have failed that is why I have come to logo tournament. Maybe a designer here will have the creative spark that I don't have with logo design concepts.

Thank you for your input because it helps both of us to get in a more constructive direction!

#1 communicated more of what I would prefer. 770 reference is too large while I like concept of 0 being reflected as camera lens but someone looking at these from a more dispassionate point of view didn't know it was a camera lens. Like reduction of the LLC indicator as it is somewhat inconsequential.
I would like to see more ideas of using the company name inclusive of art and some color.

The web 2.0 design would also be equally considered as picture mark.

Looking forward to more and thanks

#2 Color lacks luster, more colorful would be preferred. Also communicates pets without no photo restoration. Font for company is liked as well as smaller font for the LLC indicator. Can background be made to have appearance of camera lens with animals in the lens?

Regarding this contest overall, I am attempting to offer specific feed back for each design so the designer submitting can make improvements if desired and as well as hoping my input will offer insight to any new designers wishing to make submissions.

I will be checking post 3 times a day U.S. eastern, morning noon and evening and getting back to you all.
And I want to say thank you for your time and energy to this contest. It is sincerely appreciated.

#1 I like the introduction of green as it offers more color to the design also the reduction of font size of 770 is more appealing. While I know the zero of 770 is a camera lens, not everyone may. Can this be redone more as the lens design, such as Apple uses for it's Aperture software? Also is the background gradient gray tone throughout or is there white near the center? (Considering printing aspects)

It is important from my point of view that my focus of my business, first pet & nature photography, and photo restoration be constructed within the logo. Interpreting photo restoration seems to present creative issue, so I sincerely would appreciate some attempts to communicate in a logo.

#2 I like this one because of the "o" in Creations appears more like a camera lens. The remainder of the design however offers no insight as to what I do in the photography field.
Also the design is reasonably simple offering clean lines and personally, that is visually appealing.

Dotwoman...If I may I would like to address your two of your designs in one detailed comment.

First thank you. I see you are attempting to incorporate the concept of photo restoration with "white gloves in number 5 (ranking), while showing "hands on" in #3. The preferred layout of 5 and 3, is #3.
#5 doesn't offer what "white gloves" are about, I could be a gentlemen's gentleman. (I hope this created a smile).

I don't know how this idea would look but the presentation of your two, ranked # 2 & 3, I see as combined.

The company name of 2 with a little less "bold" if possible and the hands w/background of 3 with adding fine outlines of a cat and dog images in background while keeping the frame as is. I like the crisp clean clear of #2 and would prefer more of that in the image you use in #3. Can you combine the font of 2 with the image of 3, adding outline of cat and dog above and slightly to the left of each index finger, while making the reducing bold in company name and increasing sharpness of hands design? I need to see this idea to judge if it would be "too busy" before I can go any further with specifics for this idea. But can say what I like in #1 1 is the font size and usage along with the introduction of a second color.
And I certainly appreciate your presenting three concepts for me to view.

All designers, thank you again for participating!

General remarks:
First and foremost... WOW...thank you ALL for your efforts...as a reasonably new business owner, your efforts are very appreciated.

Secondly, though I may have moved some of your art/design to "not interested" many of you have submitted multiples of the same design, change color or small items in your designs. Essentially, I am trying to keep the board less cluttered and at the same time ranking simplified. So please don't misunderstand my actions and if this is an issue please let me know.

One additional input for consideration: Rank #1 image with the use of the lens has added a feeling of depth to her design, this is an element I like.

Hey everyone,
I need to be honest here...it will take something I am not expecting and haven't conceived to knock out number one. I will do my best to offer feed back for concepts I haven't thought of. Please continue with submissions because like every other human on the planet, I have a limited vision..but unlike every human on this planet, I have an open mind.. :-)

Though I currently have an option to end the contest early I am leaving this open. I have seen some abstract ideas that I liked . Now it's a matter of surprising me and from what I have seen thus far from the designers here, I think that is not only plausible but also possible.

As I look at the higher ranked logos (first 5), one consideration that keeps coming up is how will these look if reduced to and inch or 1/2 inch , lets say for use on a business card or in a news paper advertisement . I find myself questioning the legibility of the words and wonder how it would look? Is there anyway I can see the design in these sizes here?

Also I am waking up with fresh ideas and am attempting to post them first thing so all designers participating or watching might have an opportunity to think of their own design concepts with my developing information.

I read a discussion here were a designer was distressed by CH's closing out bids early and not giving late competitors an opportunity.
I won't be closing this bid out until time has expired and I would really like to see some different design ideas.

I am working with the three artists/designers for the three that are on the ranking board to smooth out submissions. #3 is a strong contender with some issues I suspect are being worked on and could possibly move into first.

While I wait and see if there are other submissions. Some basic information is needed for each logo:

1) number of colors involved with your submission?

2) If your file wins, will I receive design as an .eps file? (and 3 jpegs as logotournament.com states) As Photoshop user this file type being available here was critical to my decision to open this tournament.

3) Can the design be reduced to a thumb nail size and essential parts of design remain visible/legible ? (company name and design concept understood by glance)

4) When using design in mediums of letterhead, email, facsimile, newspaper (this would need to be cmyk with 300 dpi) will the integrity of the design remain in tact?

If one of the above does not work in my experience are you as the designer willing to work with me to resolve any issues once the tournament is closed? If so, how long would you be willing to work with me?

1) green, black and white
2) My files is a AI (illustrator), but I do not know which file will be required. Besides, I do not have a problem has to give a .eps or another thing.
3) For the visibility, it is sure that one loses always a little the details.
4) Yes!

Once the tournament is closed, I can help you. But I must preserve my real work and thus I am not very available.

I appreciate the preservation of real work...to a digital photographer it is a .RAW file format and we don't destroy the original.

I have a general question or two. Hmm I have seen and commented regarding portions of a design being blurred and now I am noticing something in the font of #83.

What file format am I seeing these designs in, jpg, jpeg, tiff ? Am I seeing designs at 100% within the file presented here?

Receiving the logo in EPS file format for me is important as I am working in Photoshop. I will present my logo to newspapers for display in an advertisement. I would need to create a file specific to the advertiser's needs but generally, convert color to cmyk, present a resolution of 300 dpi and present the image in file format requested by the newspaper.

Posting it to the web would be another set of requirements while having it printed to a coffee mug would be another set of requirements. Within PHotoshop I can do much of this which in turn saves me $$$ as a small business owner. If an .ai file is converted to EPS, it is only my hope it will open and work as an original EPS file would.

Whichever design I choose it will be submitted for trademark protection as it is my understanding I am buying the rights to the design as well.

The file itself per logotournament.com is to be presented to me as an . EPS file and that is what I am wanting.
As far as tiff, jpeg, gif, etc., I am only wanting and needing the .EPS file. IF that is a problem for anyone with any of these designs in providing an .eps file, I need to know that now, so a dispute regarding payment can be avoided later.

As is # 1 (#131) is four colors asked designer to reduce to 3 and LLC in smaller font Like the muted tones of this design along with concept. Would like to see LLC smaller font . Images used says pets: dog and cat while also saying nature with the outline of a generic song bird.

#2 (#150) Working with designer to resolve problematic areas.

#3 Like concept and incorporation of camera lens as letter o but nothing sets "pets" have asked designer to change stamp images to use pets in three while leaving the bird.

Accepted logo will be see on this tournament so any corrections done or not done to a logo in this last hour will determine if logo is chosen or not.

If you are a designer and in top 5 picks I will answer any message questions sent me.

Also want to say in these last moments the current rank is not necessarily indicative of the winner.
So if #1 is not necessarily the winner.
