Think "Queen of England" meets "Pirates of the Caribbean".
Use of flags is possible: keep the colors muted - keep to palette.
Canadian, Union Jack, Jamaican, (Old) South African flags as options.
#1 and #2 explore the element of "Caribbean Adventure" - please work with this.
No cliche palm trees and sunsets unless in the form of very classy images (wood etchings of a pirate galleon / 18th century trading port).
I would like to see more "High End" details.

Love the idea of #16 - wood etching / historical feel (just too dark).
The use of flags in #15 is great with the muted colors - but if we go there we should have all the flags and something to bind them all (Tower / Ship?).
#1 still has the classy / clean / high-end feel, just need something "extra" for the "colonial / old world" feel.

** NEW IDEAS: Charcoal/pencil sketching / navigational guides / washed out maps**

#27 - great use of the "Classy, High-end" feel with the "Queen of England meets Pirates of the Caribbean" idea. Would be great if we could work it such that each "landmark" we can have a new color ribbon. 2015 might be the "blue ribbon" year...
#24 has a great feel of subtle class and distinction. It is a little too modern, however, but has some real potential.
#32 also has piqued my interest - Not a fan of the palm trees, but a substitute image of "Colonial Caribbean" may be perfect.
#22 has the "wood etching" feel that we are looking for - too heavy/dark though, so try pencil/charcoal as the medium?
