Our Ideas & Additional Information
Like the Better Business Bureau, we want a mark that a business who has been certified by us can display indicating to their clients that they are Contribution-Centered and operate from make-a-difference values.

I'm not saying we want a logo like the Better Business Bureau's but we will be using the mark and logo in a similar way.

Please stick to Pictorial Marks or Abstract Marks that do no include the Initials of of company. "CQ" is already trademarked in more than one industry and has little or no meaning to our clients. Thanks!

Please remember that we will be using this logo on many different things and would not be able to duplicate or accurately reproduce any gradient effects properly. The logo needs to be able to work will in black and white, on the web, in print, in embroidery, etc. Thanks!

We really want to stay away from anything that looks like a "Q" so designs 5, 7, and 8 won't work. In design 6 the concept of using the star to indicate a contribution may be something to work with and develop. The way it is in this design however is not clear because of it's size and appears confined with in the circle and not extending out. Does that make sense? Design 9 & 10 look a bit too generic. We really looking for a unique mark. Thanks for the submissions!

Entry 23 & 24 are unfortunately too close to the BBB logo (Better Business Bureau's logo

Logo #27 Unfortunately, we can not use anything that is similar to the BBB logo including any type of representation of a flame, torch, fire.

If you want to submit a design with a star in it please use the type of star (or something similar) that I uploaded in the brief. We are not sold on using a star however. We were really hoping to see some great ideas from the designers that truly represent an image or icon that would easily indicate to someone that a Business that displays this mark is a business and is in business to make a difference or to make a contribution with their products or services.

We are also open to using a symbol of water rings (after a stone has been tossed in a lake for example) to represent the impact making a contribution to a client (through your products or services) and how it can have ripple effort that continues

Also, we could go in the direction of a logo that indicates contributing to and/or connecting with a community through the contributions you make with your products or services. Perhaps this might look like a contribution (perhaps represented by a star or some other symbol) in the middle of a community or lighting up a community...or the concept of many points of lights over the globe.

I hope these ideas help! Please let me know if we can answer any questions. I'm really looking forward to our new logo design!

On design #36 I like where this may be going and I like the colors. My concern is that the colors wouldn't translate will into multiple media because of the "3-d"ish effect (slight shading that has been applied) does that make sense? I don't know what you call it. Also, I'm not really getting the shape around the circle. I don't know what it is and I'm trying to figure it out when I look at it. Please develop this concept further. Thanks!

ON design #33 I like the concept and the colors and would like to see it developed a bit more too. Again, I'm concerned about the way it's shaded and how that would translate to all of the different media types.

On design #39 & #40. Would like to see this concept further developed. The colors and thickness of the font and edge of the "compass" are too bold and/or dark and the color blue is a bit too bright. I would love to see the light extended beyond the edges...indicating the contribution comes from the inside out while still having what's in the background visible.

On design #37 I like the concept and the feeling of movement...indicating a quest to contribute - really like the concept. The design as it is looks a bit to whimsical and again the way the colors are shaded won't work in all the various media we will be using it in. And, I would really like to see the concept of showing the quest through movement or a path or journey developed..

On Design #11 I really like how this concept might develop -- a lot. I would love to see some designs that have a more global look while still looking business. Something that indicates a community, connection, and the feeling of a business "tribe".perhaps with the impression of a star (contribution) in the center or emerging from it. As the design is now it is a bit to "fragile" and the colors are a bit too dull. This type of concept, if done well would probably be one of our top three choices and maybe even our top choice.

Would love to see some additional color pallets too. We will be creating our website, and everything else based on the colors in the logo so we are not locked into any colors yet. Please be creative feel free to try rich reds, purples, greens, blues, etc., etc. The colors do need to be rich and vibrant. Colors that are too bright or harsh won't work. Whimsical colors won't work. We really want to message to come across that we are doing business differently...and we are doing business better. So, while the traditional blues may be what we end up with it may make even more sense to veer away from those traditional blues as long as they are still rich enough and "reliable" enough to indicate a successful business model is in work here.

Also, because we are doing business in a new, fresh, different way we would love to see some artistic unique flair to the design....not an old world corporate...or traditional business logo. I know that can be quite a balancing act because we are still in business and do need to express that also, but in the end, I know we will go with a design that is more unique with an artist flair than a traditional corporate look. Our message is we are doing it differently and helping to usher in a fresh new authentic way to do business that is more enjoyable and authentic for the business owner/person and much more enjoyable for their clients. Everyone can relax, knowing that no one is going to try and sell them something...it's about connecting, relationships, contributing, and showing up to serve even if that means helping a client to find someone who fits their needs even better than you. There's an easiness about it, a fresh new way to be able to relate in business. Oh, and by the way...if this helps....it's really works! Our clients get lots more business in a lot less time when they do business this way!

On design #42 I like the simplicity but don't know that it conveys much. Also the color combination seems a bit too "harsh" for what we want.

On design #41 the color combination seems a bit too "harsh" for what we want and the diamond pattern isn't what were are after. It looks more like a grid or net or something that may be keeping something from getting out or getting in. Does that make sense? It's a great design...just not for us :-).

On design #43 I like the concept of this and the fact that it has more of an non-traditional and more global look to it. Would love to see it in different color combos. And, would also like to see it emphasizing the star a bit more.

On design #44 the star seems like it is trapped inside. Also, the circles seems very tight together. It may be worth playing with this design but I'm not sure. Would want to see it in other colors. What color(s) might indicate global relationships or global business for example?

We would love to see some ideas that don't include the star. Thanks!

Design #52 - it seems a bit harsh to me...perhaps because of the color of the blue and the sharp lines in the square. Also the star (representation of the Contribution) seems trapped inside. We are all about having that contribution reach out from inside each person, each business....thanks for the entry!

I would really love to see some softer business colors. Colors that may represent an easier way to go about doing business...yet still business. Perhaps more along the lines of blue greens or softer blues and aqua blues or grayish purples and blues and aquas or eggplant, purple, and blue. All of the colors so far seem like standard business colors. Let's step out of the box a bit with the design and the colors. Thanks again for all of your great work so far. I know you are all working hard on your designs and it is very much appreciated. Please let me know if you have questions. I will respond as soon as possible.

In a nutshell here's what we would like to see: :

Please take a break from submitting concepts with stars. :-) We are not sold on using a star. If we decide to go with a star we have plenty to choose from and develop. Thanks for all of the options in that area.

Please ask me questions if you need to. I will make myself available for this. Our mark is a foundational part of our business model.. Let's review a bit what we'd like to see::

A symbol that represent a new, fresher, more authentic, easier, more enjoyable way of doing business

A symbol that represent a global feel; a universal appeal: perhaps even a bit spiritual without being a religious symbol (we teach principles-based business concepts and approaches)

There needs to be an ease to it, an "Ahaaaa" feeling when you connect with it (our client are at a point in there lives where they want to serve and make a difference not go out and sell, sell, sell, or push, push, push, to build their businesses....they want to build there businesses using the same values that have lead them to want to give back and make a difference. So, we want the symbol and color story to represent that.

Perhaps (one idea) a symbol that represents community of like-minded, contribution-centered, make-a-difference business people that you know will work to serve you not sell you

A symbol with an artistic flair...this is important to us...we want it to express that it's okay to do things differently and be able to be in business and express yourself even if it doesn't look like tradition business

Also, I uploaded in the contest brief some possible color options (other than business blue) that might help you.

I hope all of this helps.

Please remember that we will be using this mark in many different types of media so shading or gradient in the colors wouldn't work

Thanks again for all the work you have already done. I'm looking forward to seeing the logo we absolutely love!
