Everyone, thanks for your great ideas and entries. We are off to an excellent start.

I would like to add one thing that was not in the initial contest brief, for your guidance:

I would like the main design element of the logo to be "detachable" from the text (ConstellationNYC). So, while I want the whole logo, including text, to be seamlessly coherent...I would also like the pictoral aspect of the logo to be able to stand on its own. (For example, the Nike logo swoosh, or the Lucent circle.) This means that the design should not be built too much into the TEXT.

Example of this principle are: #1, #2, #4, #5.

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

Thank you everyone for participating in this contest. Several creative logos were close but none of them have so far hit the spot. So I have extended the contest by 2 days. As you know, I only get one extension.
