Thanks for the entry! Much appreciated. I like the idea of the glasses on a football. I like the overall simplicity of the design. Not as fond of the font used. This is a good starting point!
Thanks for the quick feedback. That always helps to fine tune things. I wasn't too hot on the font either. I just wanted to get the idea in there first. I'll work on it a bit and upload something soon.
Nice improvement. I like the idea of the emblem. Some thoughts:
The font used for the word type seems a bit too skinny. Not sure it has enough "pop".
I prefer the "College Football Geek" wordtype spacing you used on the white background (entry #13).
Wondering about the color scheme - we'll be using lots of blues on the site. Can you play with the colors a little bit? That deep green does not fit.
Finally, I wonder what other styles of glasses you might have in your arsenal? The new ones are bit to one-dimensional. I almost prefer the original glasses better (entry #4). Maybe there is a middle ground?
Hi Klaus, with this entry I had added some more shading and reflections in the glasses so that they look a little more realistic. I had also changed the color to blue (as you see). Plus the font is a thicker more dominant font.
I kind of liked how the "geek" is looking straight at you instead of off to the side that's why I chose to do the glasses like this. Let me know what you think. I can still change it like my other entry if you would like.
Hey Fatkid, I like the new version of the glasses. That's the angle I was looking for.
The idea is solid - an emblem on the left that includes 'CFG' with a football and nerd glasses. Then have the wordtype on the right.
I wonder if you could try some other fonts. The one you are currently using is "classy", but doesn't have to be. Check out some of the other highly ranked entries, or my brief, for some ideas.
Hi Klaus - here are three versions with different typefaces. It may be a bit difficult to get the right one for you. (I have over 10,000 here and LT probably won't let me upload all of that ;-) )
If you decide that you want to go with one of mine, it wouldn't be a problem to find "the right" font to fit what you want later. But, if you see that I'm close to what you're looking for, let me know and we can do some adjustments to things before the competition ends - that too isn't a problem.
* I had also seen that you wanted it on a dark blue background - I threw that in there too.
Hi Klaus - I will be out until Sunday. By then the contest may already be over. If you need some changes before then, let me know. I might be able to do a last minute change and submit it before the end of the comp.
Hi Dave, Sorry I didn't see your 6/22 note (above) until just now. I wish the CH would receive an automatic email when a designer commented within their profile. It's difficult to keep track of all the designers. Perhaps I will provide this feedback to the LogoTournament customer service team as a future enhancement.
Regarding your comment on the main contest page, is there a way for you to take the submissions you withdrew and plug them back into the contest - before we select a winner? We'd like to see you get credit for all of your submissions.
Hi Todd, thanks for the reply. I know what you're saying about being notified when a comment comes in. I bet it's so that you don't get flooded with mails every time someone writes something in there. I'm not able to upload any of the designs that I had already taken out once the comp is over. Only the 1st ranked designer is able to do that. The only way I could get the points is if you ranked me a little higher than the spot I'm on. You had written the point scale on the main page so you know what's up.
Anyway... it was my own fault - I should have waited. I had ten entries in there! I know now to keep them in there until everything is final.
It was a lot of fun working on this with you. Wish you all the best for the new venture. Dave
Thanks Dave! We weren't aware of the point system details until a few days ago. If we had known sooner, we would've given the designers a heads up on the "not interested" thing at the start of the contest.
I think LogoTournament needs to do a better job of educating the CH.
