College Football GeekLogo Design Contest

I wanted to try a more modern concept for you instead of using a "geeky" character.

Modern sporty font and a word bubble football shape that suggests community & interactivity.

Orientation of icon (footbal) to text (words) can be easily changed if you (for example) wanted the icon to the left of the text.

Clean letters shrink down small really well, and the football icon can be used on its own, like as a "Favorites" icon in a web browser.

Thanks for the entry. Good choice on refraining from the geeky character. We're going for credibility here and this is a good start.

Very creative with the word bubble incorporated into the football.

I would like to see what this design looks like with the icon on the left.

If you choose my logo, I can of course give you the 2 verisons of the logo (icon on top, and icon on bottom).

Icon on top would look cooler on (say) a T-shirt or mug. Icon on left would work good on a website.

Paying with the idea of having the logo done as a "crest".

From your profile, I'm digging your Blue Waters Research designs. I like the font used, and the layout. It's a bit of a departure from your other Geek designs so far, but if you have time to try something similar, I'd be interested in seeing it. Thanks!

Nice additions here. The horizontal nature of the logo is easy for me to conceptualize as that is most likely how it will be displayed on our new, yet-to-be released, home page.

If you have more ideas like #27 and #28, I would love to see them.

Also, the logo will likely appear over a navy blue background. Perhaps you could make this design "pop" over such a color scheme?

Nice creativity with the monitor. I kind of like the football with nerd glasses concept, as I mentioned in my brief - entry #31 has done a nice job with that idea.

Hi there, I am away this weekend (June 20 - 21) but back on Monday, during the time your contest goes into "Judging" mode. Only the #1 ranked design holder can submit revisions to you during the "Judging" phase.

When I return on Monday if my design is ranked #1 during the "Judging" phase I am able to make any final revisions to the logo. I think you have like (7)? days to "Judge" the logos, so lots of time.

Hope you had a nice time away this weekend. As you know by now, we extended the contest.

For #28, do you have any other ideas for the emblem? Maybe something completely different than the current football-goal posts concept? Maybe use another type of football, or eliminate the goal posts, or use "CFG" more prominently?

We're looking for something that obviously works well with the wordtype "College Football Geek", but also could stand alone from the rest of the logo.

Revised horizontal logo with simplified 'chat football' icon, on dark blue.

My thought was that the 'chat football' is the icon that can stand on its own to represent your company, or be used in many different variations with the text (as shown in my different setups).

Not sure if I will get time to design something brand new for you, but thanks for considering me.

Thanks for the new revisions! Not a fan of the nerdy glasses in the "e"s, but the other revisions look sharp.

"GEEK" in light blue for a different kind of pop, and a thin dark shadow behind the entire thing.
