A general comment with regards to the logo - keep in mind the scale. This logo will be used on small items such as cards and poker chips as well as on mugs, tees, etc. It will need to have a punch even when in small scale. Thanks...
Just a quick question (I know I wont have a response until 07/13 at the earliest), I'm going to design some stuff over the weekend, but did you want a very literal interpretation of "Muscles" or can we just toy around with the elegance of the poker chips? I s'pose I'll try both but I don't want to spend hours laboring over something to find out that you were set on bulging biceps or the like. :)
mrbusto71!!! Forgive the delay in response; first time navigating this site...just finding all means of communication...and am back on-line and looking for the best logo...
We don't want a literal interpretation of 'muscles'. I like your reference to the 'elegance of the poker chips'. It just has to reference the poker term 'chip muscles'...when a player is up with a huge advantage and a huge stack of chips.
Bulging biceps more immediately bring to mind a Gym.
In an attempt to give a visual reference of what I mean by a sophisticated font, I found some fonts in Word - Imprint MT Shadow, Georgia, & Mongolian Baiti that represent what we are looking for. Thanks!
So I checked out the links you referenced for #76 and it's revisions. I see the similarity to the chip, but not so clearly the arm. But a poker chip is pretty standard, right? You are the professionals, so if a moderator needs to make a decision, the sooner the better because variations of #76 are still in the running. I don't want to be told as my contest is closing that one of the top contenders is out.
lynmerchant- This is very confusing. You have said many times that you do not wish to have a literal representation of a muscle, but this is what you have ranked in 1st place. Could you explain this since I'm sure many designers would like to submit additional designs. Thanks.
You are right, Tourcat - sorry for the confusion. We are having trouble finding the right thing, and perhaps it is the dark ground and impression of the muscular arm and the layout to which we are drawn. Check out more current rankings for a better idea of where we are going. Black ground with a sophisticated and sexy in a new Ferrari kind of way logo that is the name Chip Muscles integrated with poker chips somehow, so the logo isn't too flat. Thanks.
