Orange is our primary color and we definitely want to continue to use that. It has generally been paired with teals, greens and blues, though we would not be opposed to other color options.
A previous supporter has described our color pallete as the following:
• The green of new rice seedlings for the children and their innocence
• The blue of the clear sky over the coastal ocean for the endless potential in each child
• The burnish orange of baked bricks for the foundation upon which each child needs to grow
• The red of the watermelon for the sweetness of sharing our lives and bounty
We would like to stay away from the primary combination of yellow and red as these are the colors of the South Vietnamese Flag and the National Vietnamese flag. Since flags evoke much emotion and sometimes controversy and we want to be neutral. The same goes for using the shapes stars and stripes (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Vietnam and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Vietnam).
Also, though orange should be a primary color, we do not want it to look like Halloween.
Overall a fun, “young” color pallet would fit well with our organization as we focus our programs on children.
the colors should be simple and flat please (not shiny!)
The logo should also look good if needed to be printed in all black or all white.
