What We Do
Group of 5 life-long buddies from Texas who love to have fun, golf, drink and watch/play sports. I need a logo for a reunion & surprise birthday celebration for these 5 college friends and college baseball players. They have not ALL been together for over 15 years. The logo will go on the invitation for the party and giveaways - hats, shirts or some memento to immortalize the 2-3 day golf and drinking weekend in the Arizona desert.
Industry
Color Preferences
Initial thoughts are Black and yellow for the college colors of Southwestern University and the mascot that was a Pirate with swords and flags. Alternate idea: Texas/Western color scheme - browns, black, colors of Arizona desert or a beautiful sunset..
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I like the idea of incorporating symbolism to represent "5" (for the five guys) or things that represent Texas (5-point star, Longhorn cow, blue bonnet flowers). The guys went to a university called Southwestern (in the Texas Hill Country). The school colors are yellow and black like a bumblebee. The mascot was the Pirates with 2 crossed swords, flags. Update: I am not sure if the logo should be about the Birthday event specifically OR more about the 5 guys and how they are bonded together over Texas, baseball. I would like to see both kinds of logos.
It is not a requirement to incorporate words about the birthday or even the Cavers name because it is about ALL 5 of them. However, it could have some tagline or saying - "Cavers 50th Birthday Bash" or "Mike Cavers 50th Birthday Reunion Weekend" or more descriptive to go with the graphic - "Pirates Return: Reunion in the Desert"; or " like "Cavers 50th - Southwestern Revival" or "Pirates Transformed"
UPDATE:
After seeing the first designs, I need to clarify and re-direct some additional entries.
-Less emphasis should be placed on Mike Cavers & more on the group; It really is about all 5 guys
-I do really like the idea of a 5 point star being used somewhere or symbolism about "5", even using 5 stars
-"The Lone Star State" Texans are proud of Texas symbols: stars, longhorn cows, state flower-blue bonnet
-Symbolism could be incorporated
-It should not scream baseball, but something subtle included since that it the tie that binds them along with Texas
-It may be to wild and busy - but each guy has a nickname that could be incorporated in symbols??? Juice, Timer, Coco, Caveman, Fox
And not a exact words to put in the logo, but how they view themselves and the weekend - "50 is the new black", "Lucky to be alive", "Past our prime", "Good once as ever", "who thought we would all live this long"
