Discussion

#37 - Really like the changes in color and the added lines. Feels very much in line with the MTR logo, but different. The one thing that rubs me a little the wrong way is that it seems to be going backwards! The railing should be at the back. Not sure how big an issue this is for me. Will have to sit and stew on it for a bit.

You're right - it's my mistake! But I guess the problem is solved now :) - check my entry #40

Thank you!

Thanks. Actually, #37 still feels better. Not sure why. I really like the logo and it's the frontrunner. I've gotten some feedback some folks in the band and we agree that the caboose image needs to be a little less literal. I have this vision of the caboose almost dancing down the tracks. I wouldn't go this far/cartoonish, but lean it a little more towards a Disney Toontown vibe, a bit more bulbous. The right angles of it runs counter to the authenticity of the soul, funk, R&B music the band focuses on. Also, can you try it with "Caboose" in anastasia? What you have is close and I think will work, but I'd like to see it in the anastasia font. Thanks! You do really nice work!

#61 - Comments from the peanut gallery - can you add some windows (some think it will make it look more like a caboose) and can you have the lines/smoke/notes come out the end with the railing (again, the issue is that it appears to be going backwards)? Really like your work! Thanks!

Thanks!
I enjoy working on your project (I'm also playing percussion ...when I'm not a graphic-designer)

#62, #63, #64 - It keeps getting better and I think we are real close to having a winner. Can you take the lines on the caboose and, instead of having them go off the left side, have them coming off the right side? So that it looks like the caboose is moving to the left? Thanks.

#64 - this is my new favorite, but would like to see the clouds/notes/lines moved to the right so it looks like the caboose is moving to the left. Thanks.

75% sure (3 out of 4 votes, waiting for 4th) we're going with #65, but would like to see the colors solid (like in #61), what I mean is, there appears to be a sheen over the top part of the word "Caboose" as well as on the gold outline. Also, would like to see it in these colors (consistent with the Memphis Train Revue logo): Hex #: 5B89A3, 890000, E58900. These may be a bit richer than the colors in the logo I posted, but we recently changed the colors of that logo. See www.MemphisTrainRevue.com. Thanks again!

That was fast! I actually like the original colors better. Can you put #77 back to your original colors. I'll run it by the guys today and hopefully we'll have our final answer. Thanks! BTW, send me your email (you can do it through www.MemphisTrainRevue.com) and I'll shoot you a link to some MP3's (via FTP site) of the band you're designing the logo for.

#78 - feel like I'm getting nitpicky now, forgive me. Can you move the top part of the caboose to the right (where it originally was) and move the chimney to the left. Again, not sure I'll like it better but would like to see to compare. Thanks.

No problem at all :)
In fact I've made two new versions (I hope that could help more than it confuses you)
#79 - switched top and chimney
#80 - switched top and chimney, and than switched again the whole caboose - so it's going from left to right, just as in first entries (but more clear about what's front and what's back, I think)

#80 - love it! Thanks. Can you drop the second streak down just a hair so that the railing on the back of the caboose is more distinct (like in #67)?
