Color Preferences
I've always been partial to blue, but who isn't? I'd rather not limit designers on colors, but if I had to pick one that I'd prefer not to have in the logo, it would probably be purple.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Well, the company name is Breit Ideas Inc. (read: "Bright Ideas"), so the obvious thing would be something involving a lightbulb / thought balloon. We'd like something more professional / less obvious than that.

Hi everyone, thanks for taking a swing at our logo.

I think I'd like to refrain from using gradients in the logo design at this point if at all possible. It might be a little too "web 2.0" for me. To me, gradients make a nice effect on an already decided upon logo when used for accent on a website or in advertising, but for my tastes, the gradient shouldn't define the logo. Does that make sense?

What I'm really after a classic, easily recognizable, and memorable look that can be defined in as little as one color, but designed so 2 (or more) color versions are available depending on the application - think FedEx, PBS, Motorola... I'm a sucker for clever ligature!

I'd definitely be interested to hear any of the contest entrants' takes on this sort of thing - what do you think?

APE - That is true....BUT I like it when they give feedback and THEN put it in the NI bin....It keeps the contest clean a streamlined.

Does that make sense?

Hello again everyone and thanks again for all of the submissions. We're off to a great start. I've got a couple ideas I'd like to covey, but I'm tried to hold off on being too specific so far because I want to see as much of a range of ideas as possible so as not paint you guys into a corner so to speak.

So, some more things that I do know we want:

If you're going to spell out our company name, Breit Ideas Inc, it needs to have a space between the "Breit" and the "Ideas" - we're not BreitIdeas - our name is Breit Ideas and we know we want to keep those two words separate in any log we go with.

The Inc. part of the company name is optional for the logo - I like that we've had some submissions that include it and some that don't.

We definitely want to stay away from the colors purple, pale or baby blue, or any blue that is on the purple side of blue. Aside from personal dislike on the purple, we have a competitor in our region that use the a pastel blue in their logo and we do not want to be associated with them.

I hope this helps some, but not too much. I really want anyone involved in this tournament to tap their creativity and show us as many unique concepts as possible.
