The more prominent mountain in the center, can we see what it would look like to place an "E" near the top?

Can you remove the slogan?

As on outsider designer that isn't entering this comp I'd have a serious rethink about the random E at the top of the mountain CH - it looks like the rest of a word is missing or it's a typo error. Much stronger design without it :)

Orion - no matter what it represents from a branding point of view it looks like a mistake. Either it needs to be more a part of the logo itself (not just stuck on) or dropped. I have 21 years under my belt so I know what I'm talking about. Nothing in this for me other than professional advice to a Logo Tournament contest holder. They can either take that advice and gain a stronger brand or ignore it but I won't strand by and let something go that's so blatantly off centre without trying to advise against it.

CH's call at the end of the day and 18 is also the strongest in my opinion - good work maxk

strange is good some of the best logo are strange out out side the "Normal" take for instance the 2012 London Logo for the Olymics strange and cool and totatly out of the normal for an olypmic logo

Sparkhaven: would it be fair to say that your issue with the "E" is it's clarity and ease of readability?

Correct RizeGroobie and the added fact that it looks like a mistake.

I love outside the normal Orion - not having a go at your designs I'm trying to tell CH that it's a bad idea having a small E stuck at the top of an otherwise nicely designed logo regardless of which one is 1st etc it just doesn't fit in with the concept and looks wrong.

Not knocking the e-designs but if you scroll down, all the designs without an e look cleaner.
I entered but I'm well out of the running so thought I'd back up sparkhaven on this one. I don't care what the e is - it distracts from the name.
If the e is so important why not make more of it then? Highlight the E in Brackens... there's a thought.
