BlackBeardLogo Design Contest

I am a musician looking for an awesome logo for my new project under the name BlackBeard. I am releasing my first album September and Im trying to really develop "the look" I want BlackBeard to have. This logo will spearhead the overall process.

I am really open to any ideas regarding color schemes that anyone may have. I want the artist creating this to really feel like they have freedom with this. Im just going to rank the colors below based on my personal preference instead of excluding any colors.

From most favored to least favored:
Red
Black
White
Grey
Blue
Green
Purple
Orange
Yellow

My end goal by not excluding any colors is to have a huge variety of logos to choose from. I know thats the point already of this site but Im referring to when I see a page of logos with strict color limitations on the artist and I think the choices start to become bland and narrowed artistically speaking. I want you to truly feel like you could try anything with this. I want this to be as much fun for the artist creating it as it will be for me to look at all the great work coming in.

I AM NOT TRYING TO BE LIKE THE PIRATE, BLACKBEARD.

I don't dress up like a pirate during the shows nor do I walk around with a sword or anything like that. I don't plan on ever doing any of those things so I urge you to not go straight to a pirate themed thing. I love pirate stuff just as much as anyone and I did get the name from a legendary pirate but I want to take a more original approach to the BlackBeard name.
However, hypocritical as this may seem, I don't want to exclude the idea of some cool pirate stuff. I just want to avoid someone reading this and they go "Ok...BlackBeard = Pirate... so I'm just going to do some pirate thing." If you do some pirate thing it has to be the coolest, most original pirate thing I have NEVER seen before.
I would like the logo to be a visual representation of what Blackbeard the pirate was all about. Which would be above all, freedom. Whatever you think the name BlackBeard and freedom would look like, thats the idea. Go all out.
I cannot explain to you how excited I am to get this process going. I want to thank everyone who maybe submitting anything towards this tournament. I know being passionate about something means that sometimes you have to do a lot of things that you really might not be excited about. I wanted to make this one wide open for someone to have some fun with what they are passionate about which I know is when people really do their best work. Thank you everyone again.
