A diamond shape lends itself to a mountain, and the Black part of the title suggests that the mountain should be set against some kind of vaguely moody sky. I avoided including a skiier etc to keep it from being too illustrative, but then again i can put one in if you like! Is mono-colour for now, but might look good with some of it in gold?
Michael, I appreciate the clean design and not making it too illustrative. Could you work on trying to add so dimension, slickness and color to your designs. Also I do not like the font choice for "Black Diamond". This Font needs to be clean & strong.
(other) alternative colour scheme for your comments. Am considering making it more pictoral later on - perhaps adding some sort of cloud design/silhouette above the diamond and a ski path as on other entires. anyway, still working on it, will send more sketches later.
Okay Michael keep working. Still don"t like the font I think ii't too skinny and the spacing is too crowded. I liked the words inside of the design better. I look forward to seeing the other additions you mentioned.
..after wondering about being sidetracked, i began to wonder if id be better off losing the frame. i think maybe it does work better this way, and is a little closer to what youre looking for - although i could be wrong there.
Micheal, Thank you so much for you time and effort. Unfortunately the feeling i get when looking at your design is peace or serenity. Like it"s the logo for a church or some spiritual place. I don't see sexy, upscale(luxurious), urban or adventure. These are great ideas that you should keep but please keep working.
Ah, nuts. I see. Sorry, i think perhaps i misinterpreted "upscale"; i was trying to avoid gloss and shine - which have fallen out of favour in upscale graphics here in the UK. Will try and get something more submitted before the comp closes.
some sportier/flashier options for you. I need to go out to a series of meetings now, but i'll work on any feedback later on tonight. I actually thought the competition was ending today, but have just seen that it reads 7 DAYS not 7 hours! silly of me, really. Anyway, hope you prefer the new take on the logo. Will work on making it shinier and more exciting later, but for now i have to say it does look like a sports brand lol.
Hi Michael, Thanks for the new concepts. I think that #108 has the most potential. I like the font used for BDSW. The other words many need something different. Your other concepts with the swoosh kinda made me think of "old-fashion" science fiction. Like the Jetson's cartoon or Star Trek. I look forward to seeing the additional design elements you mentioned earlier, like color, slickness,and dimension.
