Black Diamond Ski WeekendLogo Design Contest

Hi, first couple of designs for your project. have created a cool looking balck diamond with a black colored skier swooshing from the diamond. Given it a lot of metallic shine to sit well with your target audience (trend conscious, good earnings, professionals). It's slick and cool looking. There's a couple of color options here. First let me say great job! I really appreciate your understanding of our target market. You are spot on. In the designs you submitted you used a jewel style diamond. I prefer the geometric style diamond or some abstract version of that. I'm not in love with the font use for BDSW, The skier and swooh are ok. I also don't like the outline on the silver outline on the diamond. i love the dimension, slickness and shine. Also, if you submit again (and I hope you will) please create a least 1 version on white background.

Hi, thanks for the feedback - that's a great help. I will be working on some alternative designs on Sunday, so will upload something then.

I'm glad it's heading in the right direction, so I'll work along these lines and give you options on dark and white backgrounds.

Hi, find my second design style for your project attached. Couple of versions, I've given this design an urban bling feel. Trying to keep theme you liked from the original design, but give it more style. I'll still re-work the other design, with the skier, but had this idea using the skis and poles to make the diamond so wanted to show you it. Let me know if you'd like to see any changes. Thanks. Okay BMF I like you :-) But we're a little of track. The new design especially #69 is hot but it's too young and hip hop for my crowd. You have to remember that they are urban professionals so we have always keep it sophisticated. So the graffiti style font doesn't work. My crowd listens to hip hop but they enjoy the finer things in life. So our logo has to reflect upscale(luxury), urban, sexy, adventure. Again, I truly appreciate your creativity. Please continue to submit your great designs.

Oh I forgot to say that I really like your color choices on the new design.

Another version with a different font style. I'll have a look for some more in the moring - it's 1.30am here now so time to call it a night. In the meantime, if there's any fonts within any well known logos you like, let me know and I can have a look at finding something similar (Sean John, DKNY, Calvin Klien etc)

I'm not really sold on this concept. I still looks too young. It would be perfect for marketing to hgih school/college kids. I looked through you entire profile and I really like what you did with the Rainmakers Guide logo and the Fbuddy logo. Can you create something for us in that style. They are grown, sexy and luxurious. we just need you to add a little adventure. :-)

HI, SORRY FOR THE DELAY. I HAD UPLOADED THESE THE OTHER DAY BUT HAVE JUST NOTICED THEY DIDN'T GO ON - GLAD I JUST CHECKED THE TOURNAMENT BEFORE IT CLOSED. MUCH MORE CLASSIC - STILL KEEPING THE BLING AND SOPHISTICATION BUT USING MORE OF THE STYLE FROM THE LOGO'S OF MINE YOU SAID YOU LIKED. THE GOGGLES REFLECT THE SNOWY MOUNTAIN IN THEM, CREATING A STYLISH HORIZON EFFECT. LET ME KNOW IF YOU'D LIKE ANY CHANGES. THANKS

Hi. Nice job on the new entries. On #180 can you make "Black Diamond" completely filled in instead of outlned. We like the diamond for the letter A, so leave that the same. Also can we see the slogan "Bringing Soul to the Slopes" bigger and in a handwriting font like Dear Joe, TheNautigal, or Barbara Hand. Let me know if you need any of those fonts because I can send them to you but you should be able to fine them free on the web.

I like #231 the best. After really studying your design I realized that the shape of the googles reminds me more of underwater googles than ski goggles. Could you make the goggles look more like these.

#234, #233 can anything be done about making the tagline more readable!

Hi, couple of options. I changed the font to one of the others you specified to me (Dear Joe) and set it into CAPS. I think this reads well and still captures the same feel as the original. Let me know if this is more suitable or if you'd like any other changes. I think the trouble with the original font was this it's very swooshy, so that may be why it was harder to read. If you would prefer to use the original, let me know and I'll see if there's anyway i can thin it down a bit. Thanks. BMF
