Here are some of my concepts. I've gone for something that's fairly clean and simple, yet striking. Creating an icon that works well within the logo or as a stand alone element, one that can be used for things like favicons or watermarks.
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
Hey ninet6, we are having a great week here. How is your's going?
Loving the idea of being able to use just the logo as an icon and favicon, etc.
#12 looks super clean... love the idea and its a great graphic. We have a few ideas we're trying to visualize. The backpack is neat but may be hard to tell right away. I love the globe in the clouds, but we're not certain of it yet.
We like the idea of having a map (something that makes you think Google maps, or something similar) with a map marker on it hinting that what we're doing is getting your business located on that map (and therefore on the internet as well).
Using #13 as basis, wondering if we could do something similar where the globe is a map and there's a marker? Not sure if the map would look good enclosed in a cloud style box or not? We're definitely open for ideas. We do like the BeLocated on one line, the Online under it, and maybe the slogan spanning across the entire bottom under the Online or even under the whole rest of the logo under the map and Online. Not sure, we'll leave that to you :-)
Using #65, where the current map marker is, we would like to add a square street map in the background using yellow color with a smaller version of the map marker, in red, overlaying the map (this would emphasize the service we are selling: assisting businesses with being located online). It would be similar to the way it looks when you search for a business on Google Maps. We would like the map marker to resemble Google's map markers so that customers can immediately relate and envision their business being located when people are searching for that business' services.
Additionally we would like the B, L, and O to be uppercase and in red with all other remaining letters to be lowercase in yellow.
Firstly sorry for the delay - time zone difference :) Thanks for the feedback and direction, and would be my pleasure.
Here are three variations for you: #70, #71 and #72
I wasn't sure how detailed you wanted to go on the map side of things, so kept it clean and simple. I think going to detailed would clutter rather than add to the design. But of course we can experiment.
Right on! Thanks Angus. I'll have to get with our team here to provide a thorough response. On the map: the level of detail I think is perfect - not too much, not too little. What do you think about having the roads in yellow and the background/surrounding area in a light beige?
I'll post again as soon as I can talk with our team. Thanks again!
Excellent stuff, glad you like it! Not a problem at all RE the beige background, will work up some variations. I'll see what the yellow looks like on the beige and judge whether it needs tweaking to make it stand out better.
Sorry for the delay - the website seems to be having "internal server errors", so I'm struggling to upload designs at the moment.
I've finally managed to get two of the new designs, using beige as a background uploaded, its just the last one that won't! As soon as I'm able I'll upload the other.
But at least you get the idea with the beige option from the other two.
Hey Angus, thank you for the updates! You've convinced us on #75 because it really emphasizes the BLO out of the text. You were spot on with the marker, and the beige background does look better.
After talking with our team, here's what we'd like to see:
- Let's go back to having the lowercase part of BeLocatedOnline in black while leaving the B L O in red - Full width map, which would allow for more detail so we can really look like Google Maps (they have major freeways in orange, streets in yellow, and small neighborhood roads in white) - Full width slogan - with both of these it will make the logo a box
I'm going to try to post a link to my simple mockup. I just copied and pasted a piece of a map (and I'm missing the marker), but thought it might help with the idea. http://intellicore.us/img/mockup-logo-1.jpg
All have been worked up and also the new map. Now what I've done is include all the roads (I figured after searching online that the reference was near you guys), BUT left out all the names etc.
My reason for this was two fold:
1 - Less cluttered, cleaner look 2 - Not having names means the map could also be ANYWHERE which is a good thing
Since the full size logo #76 can be hard to see, I've done a detailed version (close up) as well #77 so you can see all the different levels of streets.
Can we have the map updated in #76 so that it is zoomed in farther (in a way that the white side roads show)? We think that this will really help small businesses associate the map with being found by their local customers.
Other than that, I think we're there. Thank you much! :-)
Yes of course not a problem at all ... Let me work up some variations and submit them for you. Just popping out for an hour but will do it as soon as I'm back.
And here are those variations! I tried 3 different options, and each one getting progressively more zoomed in.
#78 - 150% bigger than the original #76 #79 - bigger still #80 - and finally a tad bigger
I think the trick was to keep in the darker highway road, lesser yellow road, and minor white roads all in the same frame! I think for me its a toss-up between #79 and #80.
