What We Do
We are a start up pawn shop operating on Christian values, we loan customers money, and sell gently used retail merchandise, looking for a logo that will get a new business off the ground running and allow us to create our brand image.

Retail
Color Preferences
I would like the company name - Believers in the light blue or teal family. The word "pawn" in red. And I would like a Christian symbol such as a cross or a fish in the design in either white or sunny yellow. I would like to consider the "pawn symbol" (arch with 3 ball dropping down) in the design, but the Christian symbol is priority over the pawn symbol. If the two could be blended or incorporated, that would be good.

I am open to other color suggestions and will consider any ideas.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I like the idea of the word Believers above the word Pawn, with the lettering for Believers being smaller than for Pawn so the two words form a rectangle with the 4 letters of Pawn stretching the distance of the 9 letters of Believers, and the height of the Pawn lettering about 1/2 of Believers. Any symbol used should be incorporated to the side preferably, but not against the top.

Ultimately, I am not a creative person, so I will gladly consider all options. Please do not limit yourself to my ideas if you have a better thought process.

I like the entries with the "BELIEVERS" stacked symmetrically on "PAWN". Thus far, the logos associated to those entries are not exactly what I'm looking for. As mentioned in the contest, I am open minded, so please do not limit submissions to the words stacked on each other. As you can see, the 1st and 3rd ranked submissions are not stacked as I envisioned and I like them. So, please be creative. With regard to color. I like the choices thus far, but for comparison, I would like to see some with greater emphasis towards a sky blue, or a royal blue. Thank you.

There have been some great submissions - thank you. One goal I have is for the symbol and the word PAWN be the focal point. With the word BELIEVERS smaller and less "in your face". I want customers to first realize I am a pawn shop. The color red is very important here. I like the submissions with verbiage stacked and the PAWN in red. As I'm seeing submissions, I am seeing interesting logos I would have never thought of which is great because it gives me options. However, many are interlocking the B & P with the cross and it takes away from the cross. Don't get the impression the cross needs to be too bold - check out the logo from Jaya Abadi. The cross is subtle, but stands on its own.
As for colors - I'm leaning towards a blue like J3erry is using. The idea of the color scheme being a patriotic red, white and blue is appealing to me, but I am not looking for a flag. I hope this is helpful.

Some great logos incorporating the fish. I original thought I would prefer a cross in the logo, everyone's creativity is allowing me to see a wide variety of choices I am definitely preferring the entries with either a cross or a fish, but very subtle in the logo.

Finalists, I like elements of each of your designs. You have all done such a great job, even though I thought I knew what I wanted going in, you've all managed to show me something great and open my eyes to better designs than what I had in mind. Now that we are this far in, I wish I had been more open to a variety of colors. So, going forward, please don't be afraid to be creative and change the color scheme up. When it comes to my exterior sign, I am required to use WHITE and can have up to three colors. Channel lettering is the preference, but a logo on a box type sign is okay. On the exterior sign I am pretty set on the word PAWN remaining in RED. Simply because that color stands out from the road. While those colors are the requirements for the exterior sign, I realize I need to use your graphics on business cards, shirts, web pages, etc. So, be creative a design something that will fit purposes other than the exterior sign. Thank you for all your work. Everything has been fantastic.

Everyone, thank you for your participation. With 194 logos submitted, I have seen some truly fantastic work from each of you. I can honestly say, over the course of the past seven days, each of you has changed my mind from what I originally wanted. Each of you showed me something I had not considered. I have changed my mind a dozen times over the past week, taking all forms of advertisement into consideration, and seeking outside advice. The surveys were good, but only confused me more, as everyone surveyed liked something different. Anyway, thank you again for your participation. While there can only be one front runner moving into the next phase, I can honestly say, I am still considering the top 10 logos. Thanks again.
