#61 - so much of client interface has to do with the eye of the beholder so I thought this letter b/eye combo might be appropriate (and just edgy enough to be memorable without being off-putting). I welcome your feedback...
Nice trials, keep working on them since we like them all and appreciate your efforts to think a little deeper about our business and what it means. On 63 what about transforming the "ligature" into a "swish" that could be also read as "bp". Could become it become even a little more abstract? As additional source for ideas: our it's a people business. Perhaps there is away to integrate any human figure (not just an eye)?
hi rms - we like what you're doing with the interlocking forms in 151 and 150. that's cool. keep it to 3 people (that would represent belief partners, our clients, and their customers - this is the gruop that we bring together), and perhaps try a few slightly more modern treatments? 158 is a really interesting direction - the i with two dots could represent us and our clients in partnership. very interesting. could you try it with a capital B for belief? keep exploring similar ideas.
hi rms. thanks for more effort and exploring the interlocking forms. keep it modern, but simple, though. we have to reproduce this small, and sometimes in single colors, so adding too many dimensions complicates things.
..."a really interesting direction - the i with two dots could represent us and our clients in partnership..." Glad you picked up on that - it's exactly what I had intended. It's subtle but suggestive and the design has that very valuable 'aha' factor. The viewer has to work with the design very briefly to 'get it' and when they do, two things happen: the first is a sense of ownership which comes from having made a personal investment in the concept and the second thing is concluding that "that's clever" - this company has something insightful and creative to offer (all of this rapidly and at the subconscious level). As well, it's a very simple graphic to scale and apply across media and it always keeps your company name front and center.
I won't clog things up with lots of versions of one design, but I thought I should show the possibilities for various renderings of any given concept I produce. I always have in the back of my mind every medium, from web to basic fax and beyond...
rms - we're big fans of 196. perhaps you can try that format in a few different fonts and see if you're happy with anything. also, just curious how it looks as if the dot on the bottom of the i is one of the letters in partners?
196 remains our favorite. would like to see what you could do with a slightly bolder, stronger font. wondering whether the "A" in partners could be the dot at the bottom of the "I" in Belief. not sure that would look good, but perhaps worth exploring.
196 is still the winner out of your submissions. it's got the simplicity, the boldness and the clever twist. we really like it. that's the benchmark right now. 427 and 428 are really nice and simple, but miss the small twist - the color is too bright for us, too. although it did make us smile. : - )
rms. can you do a few tweaks on 196? we'd like to see the belief just a bit darker, and with a sort of leaf green for partners. also, what do you think it would look like with the dots a different color? not sure, just wondering if it enhances the design or detracts from it.
rms. thanks for those alternatives. i think we can see that having the dots in color makes sense. we love this logo, but the font is still troubling us. it's just a bit....em....fat? it's lacking a little of the elegance of some of our other top rated designs. think you can tackle that issue?
steve, font in 619 is nice. the font for partners might need a little work? and perhaps you could move the word back over to the right. on the left it seems to take away from the emphasis on the word belief. leave your comments and ill check them in the morning (swiss time) before the contest ends.
hi rms. thanks for that. does look better. we love this design - we're still not quite set on the font, though. perhaps you could try a few more...and perhaps going in another direction of more formal, perhaps with serifs. we're looking to balance the playfulness of the two dots with some formality in the font. it might be that 638 is exactly what we/re looking for, but seeing some other options would help us out. thanks, david and bojan
OK, guys, I'll post a couple more options. I should point out that after looking carefully at a lot of fonts, I really do like #638 , though one feature I did like about the first font I was using was the angled lower terminal stroke of the e's - they seemed...?happy, personable, friendly to me... It's late here so I'll post something in the next 24 hours. Cheers:)
Oh yes, there was another consideration I made about serifs early on which caused me to dismiss them at the time and that was that most serif fonts will have a serif at the top of the letter 'i' on only one side which seemed to me a bit at odds with a dot at both ends... But I'll post a couple and we'll have a look.
thanks for that insight. all makes sense - see if you come up with anything that you like and if so, let us take a look and we can see whether it's an improvement or we stick with 638. thanks!
