Top Three Things to Communicate
#1 - Cool vibe
#2 - Quality
#3 - Mobile
Our Target Audience:
Popular music bands - rock, hip-hop, top-40. Ages 18-40. San Francsico Bay area. Mostly male. $20K-80K income. They work simple day-jobs, but they define themselves by their music, not the day-job. High-school and college-education. Psychographics - it's all about the music and getting the best tone onto the recording.
Color Preferences
Black & White can't go wrong. Our travel cases are covered in tweed (Google "Fender Tweed" or see our current site at www.bayareatone.com for images). "International Orange" the color of the Golden Gate bridge (CMYK C= Cyan: 0%, M =Magenta:69%, Y =Yellow:100%, K = Black:6%) would also be a nice color to use.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
"Bay Area Tone - Mobile Recording" becomes BAT - Mobile for short. Feel free to use that for inspiration. Also feel free to use the Golden Gate Bridge. We have a temporary logo using it, and like it. We tried to extend the cable of the bridge to become a microphone cable with a mic at the end, but it became too un-balanced. If you can make that work, great.

Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
Moderator Note: NO CLIPART (ISTOCKPHOTO, SHUTTERSTOCK, ETC.) EVEN IF YOU OWN THE RIGHTS. NO TRACING OR VECTORIZATION OF EXISTING CLIPART OR PHOTOGRAPHY (UNLESS YOU TOOK THE PICTURE)
Thanks for the judgement. That's not what's going on. I put it there to give people an idea of what I've had in mind. Worked, too. I got a lot of similar stuff that fleshed out our original idea.
To all contestants: sorry to have scared you by putting up our current logo. The contest is not fixed. I had one of the guys put it up to give ideas on proportion. We are now getting enough entries with the proper proportion of the bridge that it's no longer necessary. We are down to a few really good entries we are working closely with. I appreciate all the hard work, which is why I'm offering 600 and not 250. Best to all of you.
OMG! There should be a rule against this. This is a slight redesign of the current logo. Lot of people have lost bunch of time to see that they're misdirected.
