We like how clean and simple it is.We also wanted to let you know that there are a couple of things that will keep it from being ranked in the top 5.The first is the color palette (a bit too warm - please see my additional feedback to all who have entered), and the second is the that your mark communicates a bit more high-rise than what we build.Look forward to seeing additional ideas.Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago bhsystems Client Hampura,Thanks for your additional designs. You can see that your entry #49 definitely sparked a lot of interest and enthusiasm on our part. One of the reasons is that it does evoke the Barcelona grid (see my open comments to all contestants), which several of the designs did. If you want to keep iterating along these lines, we would love to see more options. Also, you seem to have really found the right balance from a color standpoint, where the blues and greens are dominant (cooler), but the logo still has a bit of approachability through the accents in yellow and orange.Looking forward to seeing what else you might come up with. Thank you for your efforts.Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago HAMPURA Logo Designer hi bhsystems..thanks for your comments..i try submit new ideas in entries #107 #108 #109hope you love it :)kind regardshampura 12 years ago bhsystems Client Hello Hampura,Thanks for all of your additional work. Our team really loves what you're putting together. There are a couple of things we would like you to explore as we enter the next phase. The first is color and dimension. The palette is a bit bright, and we would like to see you bring it back a little bit. Darker greens, blues, etc. If you want to look at a range of options, then we can let you know which we think is best. While we all like the look you've presented and we've ranked high, it is a bit too vibrant. We would also like to see a bit more dimension in the logo. Not a lot, just some shading etc, so that the marks take on a bit more depth. Finally, the Barcelona grid is not made of squares. Basically each block has 4 straight sides, but instead of the corners of the block coming to a 90º angle, the very tip is gone and there is a 45º angle instead. You can see this in some of the other work that we've ranked high.Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much for the hard work on our brand.Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago bhsystems Client Hi Hampura,The new designs you have are definitely exploring in the right area. Two thoughts:1) The palette is still a bit bright. We want to also see more depth and dimension.2) We don't want the shape of the mark to feel like an Octagon. More like a square with truncated corners.Look forward to seeing additional thoughts from you.Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago bhsystems Client Hello Hampura,Thank you so much for the adjustments to the logo. Definitely working in a good direction. I would have ranked your logo higher, but it is a bit too dark from a color standpoint. Somewhere between where you started and where you ended up would be closer to what we envision. Also, we realize you need to alter the perspective a bit to indicate depth, but I think the one we liked is a bit too much. Finally, as we talk about the barcelona grid, what we are referring to I'll try to describe a bit better. If you looked at an overhead of the Barcelona city plan, in the planned section of the city you would see city blocks that have truncated corners. So if you looked at a group of four blocks you would see rows of buildings on four sides surrounding an open space - or terrace in the middle. The buildings on the corners would face the intersection at a 45º angle. If you put four blocks together (two streets would intersect in the middle) and the shape created in the middle would be an octagon. The blocks themselves aren't octagonal, because the sides are much longer than the side facing the intersection. I give you all this detail, because we are hungering for a design that hints at the grid by depicting the above. Many of the designs we have rated highly now depict one of these blocks, but not a repeating set of these blocks. The reason we initially rated your design 49 so high was for two reasons - the color palette, which was much brighter than other entries at the time, and because of the diagonal line that cut your design from corner to corner. It reminded us of the Barcelona Grid in general because there is a road (Called the Diagonal) that cuts through the city of Barcelona from corner to corner.I hope all of this helps you with your designs. We really like your work and hope to see a few options based on this feedback. All the best,Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago bhsystems Client Hi Hampura,Thank you so much for your work with our logo so far. After much discussion on our part (team of 5 company leaders), we believe that the range of work you have shown, and the talent you have displayed, make you the designer who is best suited to get us to our final logo.As you might expect with 5 people, we have 5 different opinions, but I'm confident that we can work with you over the next two days to get to a final logo that all on our team embrace. There is one particular area we would like for you to explore, and it builds off the grid idea that we've been exploring. We feel the grid is a bit too structured. It doesn't need to be square, and it doesn't need to have such defined boundaries. We'd like to look at a grid that is more rectangular, versus square. With a base that is wider - say twice the height. Using the grid as you established it, the proportions would be something like this. Where the mark, and the word Barcelona form a wedge. And unlike the example below, where it looks more like we're just seeing a section of something much larger - not the entire grid -but just a slice of something bigger. That means that the units would be cut off in some places by a diagonal line running from the upper left to the lower right. If it helps, I will post a picture or send something to you separately. Let me know if the below makes sense to you. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOB A R C E L O N AFinally, we like the blue/green palette and would like to see some color exploration here in terms of the tones used.Thank you again for your help. Please let me know if you have any questions.Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago HAMPURA Logo Designer i try updated the new entryplease check in entries #295 #296 #297 #298if there's something wrong, please let me know.and do i have to make a rectangular shape corresponding to the number of dots in the example you give, or should I develop anymore?and later do I have to cut a rectangular shape as in the blue square in the logo # 286?thank you, hampura 12 years ago HAMPURA Logo Designer opss sorry mistake entry..now i updated new entry #299 #300 #301 i mean do you like the rectangular shape that extends to the side or upwards? 12 years ago bhsystems Client Hi Hampura,Yes, you understood the feedback as I passed it along. No, you do not need to follow my example literally - I was just trying to pass along the gist of the idea using the characters on the keyboard. If you share an email address with us, I'll send you a rough drawing that will give you a much more direct translation of what I'm talking about. As you might expect, a picture here would probably be worth a thousand words. I don't know if there is a way to send it to you via this platform without it being viewed by the broader contest.Definitely would like to see your interpretations after viewing. All the best,Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago bhsystems Client Hi Hampura,I uploaded a rough sketch of what I was trying to say in the earlier feedback. Notice the wedge that is created by the visual element and the words as well. The best way to describe what it is trying to portray is that if you imagined a larger grid underneath and you set a sheet over the grid with a right triangle cut out of it, this is what would be revealed. So the greater grid is still suggested, not just represented by 4 squares or 9 squares. Hope this makes sense. All the best,Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago HAMPURA Logo Designer ok I'll revise it nowI will submit as soon as possiblethank you 12 years ago HAMPURA Logo Designer hi bhsystemsplease check my latest logo in entries #302 #303 #304, if there needs to be improved please let me know.thank youhampura 12 years ago bhsystems Client Hi Hampura,I think we're getting really close. We'd like you to apply the shape of the blocks in the grid you're using in #286 to your latest design #305. While the overall shape of the logo is more rectangular, we want the individual units to be of a square not a rectangle. At the same time, we'd tighten the overall grid up a bit (i.e. reducing the white space between the blocks. Given we're talking about an abstract representation of city streets and city blocks, we think the white space (streets) are proportionately too broad relative to the blocks. If both of these changes make the design feel a bit too dense, you can look at additional options where you reduce the line weight a bit.I hope this makes sense.Look forward to seeing your next versions. All the best,Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago HAMPURA Logo Designer hi bhsystemsplease check my latest logo in entries #306 #307 #308 #309 if there needs to be improved please let me know again.thank youhampura 12 years ago HAMPURA Logo Designer hi bhsystemsplease check my latest logo in entries #306 #307 #308 #309 if there needs to be improved please let me know again.thank youhampura 12 years ago bhsystems Client Thank You Hampura,Liking 308 quite a bit. Blocks feel right shape. Relationship to white space is good.It does feel like parts of the grid are missing. We would like to see it feel like it was cut off, hinting at the more complete grid existing beyond the diagonal. Specifically, if looking at it from left to right, it feels like in the second column, there should be a partial third square at the top. And the same in the second row of the 4th column. And finally, perhaps a partial in the bottom row of the 5th column.Thank you for you additional effort. It is definitely appreciated.Best,Barcelona Housing Systems 12 years ago HAMPURA Logo Designer updated #310 #311 #312 12 years ago
