Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
#1 - Aragon, I like this one better than #2; however, I don't need the solgan in the logo as it will probably change over time.
#3 - dy_design, not exactly what I had in mind. Good try though.
All, what could really help is a character/animal of some type that people can associate with; for example the gecko from that major car insurance company. Obviously, a gecko wouldn't work in my logo but I think you get the idea. There are a lot of contellations that are based on animals and I tell a lot of stories about these animals. So far, #1 is on the right track. Also, as I mentioned in #1, no slogan as it will probably change. Like the universe there are infinite possibilities.
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:
~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation. ~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered. ~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see. ~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested" ~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation. ~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work. ~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

Ok let me summarize what I like in some of these: #1 - I like the telescope and the swooping star. Very eye-catching and memorable. #9 - I like the owl as a possible character. Very educational oriented with a night time feel. #8 - I like the simplicity yet it has some depth. Adding the telescope and bigger fence was a nice touch. Makes me feel like a movie star. #10 - Overall shape is very impressive. Being an engineer and into 3D geometry, I particularly like the merged circle and rectangle. #12 - Like the font choice for "Backyard Stars". Especially the little star in "Stars".
Great ideas everybody. This is my first time using this site and so far, I've been impressed. I'll re-rank these tonight.
Sorry designers, I've been busy and haven't had a chance to rank these. Before I do, let me say this again, NO SLOGAN. If you put the slogan into the design, your design will not be considered.
Despite that, the designs are interesting and its going to be a tough choice. Great job.
